Been smoking pipe since 1997 and find my blend tastes change from season to season and year to year and usually full circle. Recently I have been smoking more straight Virginia's and even started to try some aromatics. When starting out it was pretty much all English and Va/Per blends. Also a cigar smoker since 1991 and those tastes have changed as well from super strong to more flavorful smokes. Latest favorites have been lines from Viaje and Warped. I got into pipe smoking when the cigar boom 1997 made good cigars hard to find and anything out was un-aged and smelled like a litter box that required 6 months in the humidor before smoking.
I would say I'm in my 3 big wave of pipe smoking and definitely smoke more than cigars. Current regular rotation has been P.S. Luxury Twist, Scotty's Trout Stream, Boswell Dan's Blend. Floating around 11-12 lbs in the cellar with many tins over 5 years. In short supply of my beloved Frog Morton series and will open sparingly. Dunhill Nightcap is well stocked and a lot of different single tins of all types.
Also a avid poker player and play a regular tournament at the local B&M. Made a few converts to pipe smoking there and the owner and I are in discussion of bringing in pipe tobacco to the retail side.

Welcome to The Briar Patch Geoff @acefour , and hope you enjoy your stay with us What's the name of your B&M in your neck of the woods? Apex Cigar Lounge in Apex, NC. It's in a 105 year old house that was the first to get electricity back when Apex was known as Log Jam. Pretty cool place. Been open a year and great patrons and lounge. Working with the owner on bring in pipe tobacco. They sell Ken Silver's pipes on consignment. Ken is a good friend and makes pipes in Garner, NC.

@acefour Hell of a humidor they have brother! Good luck to you and the owner, and hopefully they can develop a relationship with a solid distributor, and can get some popular tin's/bulk set-up inside. I could see them having some positive pipe events there in the future... Note: and they're on Facebook and Twitter too! Apex Cigar Lounge

Your lips to God's ears... if anyone in North Carolina might be interested in starting a pipe club, PM me...I am no pipe club Guru, but I can offer some advice, on what works and what doesn't...even some steps I sill need to take... I stand on the shoulders of the rest of the pipe club members in Az btw.It is a lot easier than one thinks it takes.
