Been an insomniac since I was 15......I was writing my dissertation until 3 last night then laid in bed for an hour or two before getting about 2 hours sleep before the demon spawn that are my cats and wife rudely woke me up for attention

I can’t tell you the last time in my life when I slept for 4 hours straight. I was recently offered by my primary care physician to be admitted to a hospital for a couple days and get some sleep by sedation. Sounds great, but I’d come back home to the same situation.

Maybe you need regular induced sleep with breathing device under supervision? I’ve been through two different sleep studies. I don’t snore and definitely don’t suffer from sleep apnea. My issue is basically pain and stress. Combine the two and you have a ticking time bomb. Hope you’ve been sleeping better!!!

Well I awake to scared to sleep imagining Ted as zombie. Playing my stupid PC game Fallout 76 strung out on all the ice tea I drank today. Damn you Lipton! One bag one quart mason jar put in the fridge and go back later. I got me four jars going, drink one make one, repeat.

I took one of my blue tablets last night and slept for 11 hours. It was bliss.
This was not written with the intention to rub it in. Perhaps I'm not allowed in this thread.

Up at 4:00 again. I stayed up till midnight and still got up early. No matter what time I go to bed I'm averaging 4 hours of sleep and I'm not taking a nap either. I guess the days of getting 6 to 8 hours of sleep are behind me.

Paddy, in the last 9 days in total I got less then 11 hours of broken sleep. Your a lucky person 👌👍👌 Your “ blue “ sleeping pill, an OTC or prescription??

It's an otc sleep aid that I get a friend to pick up when she's in America. Only reason is that you can buy a tub of 200 tablets. Over here you'll only get 16 at a time...

Legend Lover^^^^^^^^^ that’s the generic brand for Benadryl. If I take a 100 milligram tablet it does nothing for me. Last night I took an Ambien 12.5 ET..........I slept for under an hour and a half.

I have severe issues getting proper sleep, either it’s pain or one of my meds. Way to much going on in my mind. There have been a number of times that I can be up around the clock for 3 to 5 days in a row. It’s something I’ve dealt with for 7 plus years. I will read a book, watch old TV shows that I missed out on due to my busy schedule working and travels. Listen to music with a fabulous set of headphones 🎧. Or surf the web, it’s getting monotonous!! "Way too much going on in my mind." is the leading cause of insomnia. Although I was always a good sleeper in the past, whenever I had something on my mind sleep would be elusive. Nerve pain can also make sleep impossible. Since learning several methods of meditation, it's much easier to quieten my mind & fall asleep. .... usually. Meditation has it's limitations so I take cannabis for the nerve pain, lol. (Seriously though, cannabis is brilliant for sleep. For those who don't like the high, use a FECO [full extract cannabis oil] that is high in CBD)

I seem to be sleeping in about two hour installments. Wake up and read. Ambien not ding much for me unless I double the 5 mg dose which I do not want to do. So, I read for a while. CPAP reports Apnea-Hypopnea events averaging between 12 and 30 per hour which is too high.
Ted, it appears you have developed a tolerance to Ambien which is typical, as you know. I am sorry Nebutal is not around any more. That would work. Have you tried Dalmane?

toshtego ........John, yup tried Dalmane and 300mg of trazodone, which is used for a number of different medical issues. The only sleeping aid I used twice a week years ago was Halcion. Taken off the market in Europe and the USA followed. Now Halcion is back on the market manufactured by Pfizer. I slept but had serious side effects...I mean like psychedelic dreams and made me one made/angry SOB the next day....which with my career actually worked well together........lol. I was afraid of nothing, I put myself in harms way to often!!

The only blue pill I take keeps something up all night. If you have an “ effection “ lasting longer than four hours call your doctor or go immediately to your local ER. OR, call my ex wife from NY........lol.....I’ve been dying to use this line😂😂😂😂

I'm now taking one Gabapentin and 2 of some generic PM type of Tylenol which is working 1/2 the nights each week. The other nights is 2-4am BS while I lay there and review every mistake I have made my entire life. Sleep is another proof that spending 1/3 of your life doing nothing productive and missing out on things, verifies that the Creator is highly incompetent and fairly ignorant.

I personally find that offensive.
Let's keep our 'religious' beliefs out of the forum discussion, please.
