2019 might be a big year for me. I'll be able to look for my own church and so there's a potential house move, the wife will be leaving work, girls changing school, etc. We might be across the country. It'll be scary but also amazing. I've also managed to get the chance to go skiing in Jan. I've been dreaming of going skiing ever since my first ski trip with my wife in 2007. Those are 2 things I'm looking forward to next year. What about you? Wish you and your family the best for 2019. I hope you get your church, probably of some years of sacrifice and really hope it works out.

Strange that you ask this because I was thinking about it all day at work today. I'm changing jobs. If I cant find enough work right away to stay busy myself, another guy told me I can help him while I get things going. BUT I am also thinking about completely changing jobs and finding something new. As it stands, my retirement is non-existant. I dont want to work til I die from it. I'm not getting any younger. I'm going to make some personal changes too to help out my overall well being and excess stress. My goal for 2019 is to bust my arse in every aspect of life so 2020 will be a better "start." (Good luck LL, I wish yall the best) Don't be afraid of trying something new career wise. I was 42 when I decided to go to school and learn HVAC/R. I worked for a company 3 years and thought I was in a good place but it wore on me ripping people off because that is what that company was into. I went out on my own and it was hard at first but I survived and make a living doing what I love.

My personal wishes for 2019 is enjoy my family and hopefully not to have as much drama as I did in 18. Hope the business continues to do well and everyone makes it through healthy. I am looking forward to getting a new camper this year and getting to smoke some baccy by the campfire. I am going to try and attend the Chicago and Columbus shows this year and hope to meet some of you fine folks in person. Other than that I wish everyone a happy and healthy 2019.

The only things I can say I hope for are continued health for myself and those around me, continued employment, and that the house holds up. I'd like to be a good enough carver to start selling my pipes this coming year.

2019 will be a little different than 2018. I have to wonder how much more skin cancer they will find. How much more my lumbar back will degenerate and the pain increase. How much longer before a revision of the right knee hardware( had replacement already). Always wonder if there will be enough to pay the monthly bills. Wonder when I will be able get my car running again. Wonder if there is someone qualified to work on my eyes. And it will be another year I wished I had jobs where I could have been able to set up a retirement fund. As the old saying goes "don't cry over spilled milk". Also "if there is a will there is a way" I look at the above like this. The above is not in my complete control, I will handle it one day at a time. And besides I have 3 things going for me. 1. I am insane 2. I am of Celtic heritage 3. I am a Marine Have a good night. Semper fidelis baby! Cheer up it will get much better this year I feel it in my bones

1. I want to finally get my stereo/video room done, and start going through my 800 Lp's and making CD copies of them. 2. Also want to start playing trumpet again after quitting 4 years ago when I lost my health. 3. Want to build my Level 2 high powered rocket and get my certification. 4. Convince the wife we need to have an open marriage. 5. Get my Suburban back on the road. 6. Smoke more wacky baccy. 7. Visit an Observatory.

Its definitely stoner friendly television. Its a pretty decent cartoon too, and if I had kids I would totally turn it on for them ;-)

I tend not to make solid plans so what I have to look forward to has yet to be decided. I'll just have to wait and see what happens.
All I can say for sure is that I will do my best to enjoy every moment I can.

Are there places that offer that?

And then, when hunting season starts, I will be guiding hunters in the same backcountry on elk hunts. Feel free to PM me if you would like.

Can’t complain, nobody would listen. Health is so so, got a roof over my head, enough to eat. Got a great forum to go to, great people to share experiences, all good. Wishing everyone a prosperous 2019, good health, and forever smiles.

Better investing climate. S&P 500 at 2,486 today, currently down a little over 15% from its previous 52 week high of 2,941. While this would normally signal fairly decent buying opportunities, head winds going into next year remain fairly significant. Most recently, the S&P 500 suffered a 19% decline from April 2011 through October 2011 and recovery time was only five months. The possibilities for a similar recovery next year are fair-good; however, volatility will likely be the essential element which determines the final outcome.

I recently turned 58, I could have taken my full pension 3 years ago, by still working, it incrementally raises the benefit, but I would be so much better off taking a new job and having two revenue streams to pay down bills.
One factor why I haven’t changed jobs is that I pretty much have gold plated healthcare, the most I ever pay is a $15 office visit. (Didn’t pay a nickel for my GN ReSound LiNX 3D hearing aids or the audiologist consults and setup.)
The trick for me is to find a job that pays a worthwhile wage and has pretty decent benefits, but a condition of collecting my pension and working is a non competitive requirement.. no freight, groceries, or foodservice.
That is a long winded way of saying that I need to get a new job... I like my current job, everyone is pretty cool.

To all you youngsters out there...let me implore you to think about your retirement NOW. You never know what may happen in your employment, in your health and probably a hundred other things I just can't think about right now. Roth IRA. Start yesterday.
