Merry Christmas! I have been drooling over Castello’s for weeks. I’ve never really had much interest in them, but lately I look at them and I have that uncontrollable urge to have one, and I’ve decided that I will gift myself for my birthday in a couple weeks. The problem is that I’ve found three different pipes that “I can’t live without”. A bulldog, a half bent billiard, and a Canadian. They all are 3K and 4K. When I look at one, that’s the online I’ve decided to get. Then when I look at another, THAT one is the one I’m going to get. And so on, and so on.
Let’s see your Castello’s. What’s your favorite shape or style?

Used to have one...it was a Canadian...and beautiful....this was back in 1970...lost it somewhere during my life...along with a number of others...sad...I wish I still had them.

My Castello Sea Rock Billiard KKKK Black Dot from the first day I purchased the pipe back in the mid 80’s. I own a few others that are not in my rotation right now. Sorry, I much prefer Radice 👍👍👌👌

Sorry may be a stupid question, but is a Radice the same as a Rad Davis?

Sorry may be a stupid question, but is a Radice the same as a Rad Davis? No. Radice is now a Italian family brand with Luigi's roots going back to Castello and later Caminetto. Rad was an artisan who came and went pretty quickly due in part to health issues. At his peak he was a top notch sandblaster.
I'd like to see your new Sea Rock. I collect Castello and I especially enjoy smoking my Sea Rocks.

When I first got into the hobby, they were among my favourite pipes. I searched on eBay and bought what I thought was a sea rock at a ridiculously good deal. Turned out to be a Brebbia Lido. Haha I didn't complain because it was still a cool pipe and a decent deal. Still hope to own one someday.
Good luck on selecting your pipe! If it's anything like the Canadian above, I think I'd have to go with that.

Sorry, I much prefer Radice 👍👍👌👌 Radice and Ascorti thought that they were being limited by Castello, so they started their own business. And I am so glad that they did.

My personal preference is definitely Radice pipes, especially their Rind👍👍👍 Ascorti second, only have two and they’ve been in storage containers since my move down South.

I have 10 Radices. I shudder when I think about my investment, but I don't want to part with any of them m

Another one that really caught my eye while scouring the web for the perfect pile was Mark Tinsky. That Coral finish is really nice.

I’d love to post a photo but I can’t figure out how. I tried the url thing yesterday with no luck. Plus, I am pulling a 24hr shift today. I can maybe post a photo tomorrow...or try to anyway....
