I just stepped on the scales.
I'm 15st 5lbs. I want to lose 2st this year.
Do you have any weight goals? Lose weight? Gain weight?
I feel this thread might spur us on.

Yes, I want to lose 30 lbs. Was doing pretty well with the Keto diet, but the holidays derailed me. Back to it tomorrow.

I did mine this year. Somewhat unintended, but not totally. I'm down 25 lbs. to 180 lbs. since April.
I haven't been this weight since high school.

I've lost 25 pound since June. I want to lose another 25-30 pounds in 2019. That would get me to 195-200 pounds on my 6ft, 2 in frame. I'm already down to pants sizes so it feels good. The only problem is the expense of a new wardrobe which, frankly, can do with some updating anyway. Good luck with your weight loss program. Way more fun putting it on and a lot of hard work to keep it off but worth it in the end.

It's been a blast putting it on. Taking it off is tough though. Slimming World starts this week.

You folks trying to lose weight...gotta laugh, when my spine collapsed and I lost 3" in height and after a couple of surgeries and now pain meds for life...I finally gained some weight...all the way up to 120 pounds...was at 110 for years.
Just wait until you get old...it will be a different story then. I hope not cause I wouldn't wish this on anyone...constant pain will wear you down.

I need to lose as much as possible.
Sadly, that does not seem to happen. After weeks of consuming 400 to 700 calories per day I lost nothing, not one pound.
Prior to these health problems I was on a keto diet. Same results, nothing.
All I can do is eat less and give up the obvious food items. What ever happens is what I will be satisfied with. Planned weight loss programs just do not seem to work for me.

Gotta lose some weight this year … my wife is a great cook!
Back in the late 90's, I dropped 65 lbs and kept that off for a long time. However, much of that has crept back over this last decade and I want it gone again.

I'm hanging right at 195-200lbs, want to be at 180 by July 4th. Its a stiff goal, but I've done it before. I always feel better, my knees thank me, and so do the horses. I had surgery fusing 3 vertebrae in my c-spine a couple of years ago, and the forced down/recovery time didn't help me in the weight department. Shweetie's too good a cook.

I would like to get down to 275 this year from 320. Mind you I can count ribs at 240 being built like a linebacker. The best diet numbers wise seems to be the South Beach the results show up in the blood work and my doctors like it. But everyone is different and has to find the diet that works for them.

I NEED to lose about 40 pounds. I usually lose about 18lbs between new years and the middle of May, then pack it all back on again between October and Jan. 1st. I just go hog wild during the holidays. My blood sugar doesn't thank me, neither does my energy level.

6' even, 180 pds. Wear same size "34 jeans as when a kid in the Army. Stop eating sugar and white flour. I mean look at every hidden gram. Fruit juices, milk, sauces, everthing. Pounds will peel off.

I also do some stuff to boost testosterone, primarily leg exercises.

I've also had three shoulder surgeries so my weight lifting days are over too but use my walking staff with a battery of exercises I learned to recoup from those surgeries to keep limber. ditto from above re: shrinking due to two bulging disks, ended my promising distance running career back in mid 20s. Was 6' even, 140. Now yrs later & lots older, happy at 5' 9 1/2" at 160. I race-walk in competitions, eat sorta right but not that concerned All my pants are at least stretch, all "every day" just drawstring.

Sugar and white flour of course being two staples of the American Southern diet! What? DIET Sweet tea? ;-)

I despise cardio. Weightlifting I can do with consistency, and without disdain. the o not sport I like is squash and surfing, and what with my age and fitness level, distance to the beach, plus having no time to scratch my arse, neither gets done. I hear that. For a couple years I got up at 5:30 (05:30) and ran for 30 mins, and lifted for 20. I lost 40 lbs (almost 3 stone). Then I got plantar fasciitis in both feet, which killed my running routine, and my motivation to keep going. I tried the elliptical, but that felt like cheating. So, I ended up despondent, and stopped. A year, or so, later, we moved I started running less, but lifting more with a squat rack and Olympic weights I bought. My diet was crap, so I didn't lose much, but my metabolism was better. Last January, I started lifting using Strong Lifts 5x5 right after my daughter went to bed 8pm (20:00), and got to lifting some respectable weight. With diet I lost 18 pounds (1.35 stone), but gained muscle, and my over all health benefitted substantially. I stopped lifting after summer vacation. My daughter started going to bed about 45 mins later, and I didn't want to be lifting in the garage at 9pm. I now need to find another time to exercise. It's looking like the only time is 5:30am, which is hard when I'm up to midnight cutting pipes.
