John ... I think the extra rattling of the noisy exhausts shakes brain cells loose! LOL However, at 1832cc's on my bike, I can't agree with that last line! Same here. I think maybe you should work out a formula based on the displacement per cylinder, or just say Harley riders, political correctness be damned. I am so sick of the loud pipes and ape hangers I can't stand it. Anti social group hug. I have had a lot of HD riders admire my bikes in private, but they are afraid to separate themselves from their crowd. The Triumph Rocket 3 really shuts them up. That thing is a beast!!

A very fine beast! Closest thing to the original Valkarie, which is widely recognized as one of the best bikes ever made. I put the trike in the shop last week. Fuel pump froze up from sitting. He had it running before I got home and spent the rest of the week looking for a new fuel pump. None to be found so it's running on a used pump. Now it's at the trike shop for a good going-over and a couple of light upgrades. By next weekend I should be able to ride it. It's not good for anything to sit for 3 years.

My other bike, a Kawasaki Vulcan 1500, has sat for several years now. It will need to be completely torn apart to run again, I'm afraid. However, the parts are very rare at this point and I'm thinking about just piecing it out. Hope you get good weather next weekend and have a great ride!

A Vulcan 1500 is a tough bike. They were everywhere in the day. Good solid ride. I am surprised that parts are so hard to find for such good bikes that were popular. I think that the motorcycle business is dying. The younger generation isn't interested in such a dangerous activity and we are dying out. The youngest riders I know are in their late 50s. I see the occasional young black riders attempting suicide on sport bikes and the ubiquitous old Harley riders. Most of motorcycle dealers have no business. Even the Harley dealer up the road is quiet. I stop in sometimes to look at the pretty chrome and they have free coffee and are a good bunch. I feel bad for them. In 20 years I don't think you will see motorcycles on the road.

Retro! That looks like the late 70's Honda CB series ... cafe style. I had one in burnt orange / black.

Very interesting motorcycle. Quite a lot of thought went into this one, not just a copy from long ago. I would love to ride one. I read somewhere that HD is developing an all electric bike.

My 07 Bonneville had 57hp before the mods and was quite fun. This RE is half the price of a new Bonnie. It is 12hp more than my 1970 Kawasaki 250.2-stroke. But I rode a BMW R6 that was the same size and it was only 34hp. Plenty of fun. They have a Scrambler called the Himalayan that has a new design 400cc single made for the joy of dirt roads that looks like max fun too.

That Himalayan does look like fun and 400cc is plenty for dirt roads. My wife has been wanting to start riding and a pair of dual-purpose bikes would be ideal.

It's a completely new design with anti-lock brakes, fuel injection and a 3 year warranty. Plus the engine is designed to be repaired by an Indian in a mud shack with a pair of pliers and a screwdriver.

A Hogan is what we call them. If they happen to contain a mechanic when in need, they become "Hogans Heroes"! LOL

I was thinking about southern India, but I guess that your area works too.

I am probably typical of a Texas Cherokee/Choctaw, living in a mobile home.

Whatever the intent location wise, it provided Darin with one of the worst (thereby good) puns of the year.

Beautiful evening here in Pinehurst today.
Blondie and I decided to hop on the Harley and take a quick ride. Two hours later we were rolling back into our drive as the sun was setting.
Lovin our Fatboy.
