Hey I've posted a few times today but again I'm new to pipes and new to the forum. I just wanted to say I know its winter but I love riding my motorcycle and am always looking for new groups to ride with. If anyone is in/by northwest Indiana and is interested to ever meet up send me a pm. The main guy that got me into riding moved away and I'm looking for some more riders.

You should find someone...there are quite a few riders here on the Patch. I took one spill many years ago...that was enough for me.

I took one spill many years ago...that was enough for me. I lived through my last ride. I've had no interest in motorcycles since.

There are loads here who love or have motorcycles. Not sure how many live near you but you'll get some good chat here.

What's your ride? I've been scooting for about 35 years now and still love it. Most of my bikes were Metric Cruisers with the last one being a Vulcan 1500. Nowadays though, I ride a Goldwing 1800 and wish I'd gotten one sooner!

I’ve owned many in my lifetime, my riding days are over. I’m sure there are a few motorcycle clubs in your area that ride on “ the normal side “👍👍

I love bikes, but after a nasty accident in the 1970s, I figured that was enough.

I love bikes. but after a nasty accident in the 1970s, I figured that was enough. Yeah I was thinking about getting one until my last girlfriend showed me on her phone on Youtube what happened to the poor guy on a Vespa in her hometown. Basically nothing left of him, or the bike, and all he hit was a small Toyota pickup. He broadsided it, but I figured there should be something left. I can barely walk now, thats the last thing I need. So I don't even ride motorbike taxis anymore. I'm over it. I love motorcycles and the freewheeling lifestyle, though. Easy Rider has to be my favourite 60s movie. Another one that is TERRIBLY overlooked is this psychedelic British masterpiece from 1973, Psychomania: It has the sickest sound track too...

Nice … keep the rubber side down!
My Goldwing just passed the 115,000 mile mark and still pulls like it's new.

I've heard a lot of good things about cruisers but just can't bring myself to start shopping for one yet My last bike was a Triumph Bonneville. I rode it all over Texas, Arkansas, and Missouri. Great bike but I wanted to travel with my wife. This is my second Gold Wing. I have thoroughly enjoyed both of them on the open road. The Bonnie was better for scooting around town. my 99 Magna was a good compromise.

I've done 7 hour rides on my bike and 1k mile weekends and haven't felt it to bad but I would like something more comfortable for my wife. I dont think she appreciates the thin seat or appreciates being one with the bike.

Yours is a great machine, Honda has come a long way now on overall handling capability from the first few years of original release. I owned a ‘87 Aspencade, the model with the 7 1/4 pound weight mounted on the front fork to stabilize the machine on sharp turns. I was blown away by Honda’s ridiculous engineering on this machine. I put a bundle of extra chrome and lights, looked good and sold it 7 years later at a reasonable price. Never gave me any major issues at 122,000 plus miles. Took the bike to Nova Scotia twice. Also had a 1975 Honda GL1000 Gold Wing, had that for 10 plus years. Surely miss those days! BE SAFE👍👍👍

The pre-2000 models are the most comfortable for the passenger and just fine for the rider. And they never wear out.

My biggest beef with my bike is it being carbed. I'd prefer fuel injection because even on hot days if it's parked for an hr then it needs a little extra to get going

FI goes haywire and it's going to cost you. I bought my 2007 Bonneville when the 2008s with FI were already out. I spent an hour changing the jets and never looked back. You probably just need larger low speed jets to make it easier to start.

I've had and ridden scooters since 1966 back when my first was a 1958 Triumph Bonnyville. I've been working on a 1959 BMW R60 in Dover White for the last 3 years. It's finally up and running except for the striping on the fenders and tank and on the Stieb sidecar which will go back on it. I like sidehacks and this will be my second hack rig since my 1969 R69 with a Ural hack. Drove that sucker all across the US and up into Canada back in the late '70s thru early '80s. When I get this one all put together gonna take a trip up to the NW to visit my daughter and grandkids. If you remember that ALL cage drivers are out to run you over and drive approprietly you'll keep it rubber side down !

I liked the Amal's on the Norton and BSA. The old monobloc on the Ariel never gave me trouble.

I wish I could've rode half the bikes you guys are talking about. One of my friends has a vmax that I've considered buying off of him. That bikes a torque monster off the line.

Greeting Pipe smoking Motorcycle rider from NW IN. From a fellow Pipe smoking Motorcycle rider in NW Chicago. The missus loved the back seat of our 2002 BMW K1200LT. Bur then we added the 2017 Can Am Spyder to the garage. And now thats the go to bike for any long trip together. I have to admit. 600 mile days on the BMw solo were fine. But I have now done a few 700+ days on the Spyder with no issues. I move the bikes each spring and each fall between Chicago and Tucson. 1 in April and 1 in May. Them September and October. I see some smoking rides in our future this coming year!
