Planning on a low key NYE.
Will grab some wine, beer and champagne and having my wife’s cousin’s family over for some drinks accompanied by:
Duo of crostini: one with Brie, figs and walnuts and another with bruschetta caprese.
Spicy hummus , artichoke hummus and other assorted homemade dips with assorted crackers, pita chips, etc
A cheese platter: Colby jack, horseradish cheddar, ny sharp cheddar, feta and blue cheese along with some fresh fruit
Bagel pizzas and sparkling cider for the kids.
Looking forward to it, what’s everyone else’s plans?

Wife has me going to a wine tasting. Actually sparkling wines.
The things we do to keep our woman happy. Uuuuugh....
By noon today I will have a large piece of beef on the Webber "26 for about 7 hours.

...low key here as well...expect Thunderstorms for several hours this evening so I'm certainly not going out...a hearty Southern dinner, a drink or two, and several pipes and that's all the celebrating I'll do...

I havent went out on new years in at least 10 years. This will be my 2nd one sober. I'm staying home and will be in bed by 10:00. I'm off from my "normal" job tomorrow but will use that day to finish up my other job.
Before I die I want to go to NYC for New Years just 1 time.
Whatever yall do, BE SAFE! If you drink, DONT DRIVE! But remember there are plenty of other drunk idiots out driving.

Starting mid afternoon I have 6 different servings planed for me and the ex. From sausage and vegetable Stromboli, Brie pie, many different types of dips and crackers. Hotdogs rolled in dough, baked and served with a horseradish mustard sauce. Jalapeño poppers with a dipping sauce. Just before midnight a huge shrimp cocktail will be served. In between some slow cooked black eyed peas , in slow cooker now. I’ll definitely be eating some Brussels sprouts today as well👌👍👍

We have another couple and their kids coming over later. I'm making dinner: pan roasted herb chicken, mushroom risotto, Brussels with pancetta. I'm making a banana pudding for dessert. If it doesn't rain, we'll go to the town "crab drop" (I live on the eastern shore of Maryland, where the blue crab is King). I'm sure tomorrow will be as lazy as can be, though I'll probably do my grocery shopping.

Going out to dinner at the pub my nephew works at and catching a comedy show there after. My sister and him are treating us since every holiday is at our house and they felt we needed a break.

Here in the home of Mardi Gras, we have a moonpie drop. Southerners are easily entertained.  For the uninitiated, moonpies are a favorite "throw" from the floats during Mardi Gras--along with the traditional plastic beads and stuffed animals. Yes--show us your na-nas--for a moonpie. |

If yours is fairly fresh cut a piece for the amount your going to smoke, rub out and let air dry for roughly an hour.....will be a much more mellow enjoyable smoke 👍 |
