There is a lady from the church who is about to die. I mean why bother with the non alcoholic beer? It all tastes nasty. Just drink a diet Coke. Just my take. Sorry about the church member. I hope that she has had a good long life.

There is a lady from the church who is about to die. Ummmmmm......pass away sounds so much better.....eh? I don't want to pass away, expire, or any of those euphemisms. I want to die dead as a rock with no two ways about it. I wish I was a Viking or something where I could die with a sword in my hand with lots of blood so as not to leave any doubt.

I know other phrases of mine don't. Didn't want to give the impression that something else was happening. There is a lady from the church who is about to die. As long as it’s fast👍 Later have a Guinness and try to relax. Only a few more hours for 2019 in Ireland.....be safe and enjoy 😘

Planning on a low key NYE. Will grab some wine, beer and champagne and having my wife’s cousin’s family over for some drinks accompanied by: Duo of crostini: one with Brie, figs and walnuts and another with bruschetta caprese. Spicy hummus , artichoke hummus and other assorted homemade dips with assorted crackers, pita chips, etc A cheese platter: Colby jack, horseradish cheddar, ny sharp cheddar, feta and blue cheese along with some fresh fruit Bagel pizzas and sparkling cider for the kids. Looking forward to it, what’s everyone else’s plans? I am headed to Scott’s House! I am headed back out of the mountains, getting home late today. It will be me with the wife, granddaughter, bulldog and Ferret. I am going to pickup some Togo’s Pastrami sandwiches and beer...make a couple martinis for the wife, and a homemade blizzard for my granddaughter...quiet nite. Papa’s French toast with bacon for breakfast tomorrow.

Here in the home of Mardi Gras, we have a moonpie drop. Southerners are easily entertained. For the uninitiated, moonpies are a favorite "throw" from the floats during Mardi Gras--along with the traditional plastic beads and stuffed animals. Yes--show us your na-nas--for a moonpie. Sounds about right to me. Plastic beads and Moon Pies have about the same flavor. 😁😉🤠 Try to keep up, Ron. We don't eat the damn things; we throw them. Ideally we throw them at a woman holding her blouse open while showing her na-nas. I will have to invite you over to Mardi Gras and give you a lesson in moonpie tossing. I have a feeling you will enjoy it. You can even smoke your pipe while you do it. Just sayin'.....

I'm gonna finish this smoke, go inside, and write a letter to my dad. I'll probably be in bed before 11:30.

It's winding down here. 5 hours, 6 kids from 2-11. The screaming! The insanity! It was good, we exchanged gifts. Everyone had a great time. My friend was thrilled with the pipe I made for him. He got me a knife - there's a local knife maker/restorer, which he got the chef knife from. Dinner was well received. Ate way too much banana pudding. I'm exhausted.

We were there in October, visiting the statue of my 6th great uncle on Decatur.

I would not go to New Orleans for Mardi Gras either.

I want to throw Moon Pies. 11:03 in the swamp there was less noise and fireworks in Operation Desert Storm the good fireworks will start at midnight. Fireworks season stats around Thanksgiving here and ends about a week after the first of the year.

nada plans for Tues the 1st xcept maybe xtra sleep. Grab the paper, sort out the numerous flyers/ads, read sports page, some breakfast. Long time wifie always been very generous in displaying her na-nas to me frequently & knows what I'll do with 'em! Seemed quiet on our busy state hi-way out front, sure plenty of ossifers around. Will be sure to check the "Police blotter" on Wed in local rag. Bests to all & keep it smokey
Ed Duncan, Batavia, NY pipe/cigar since '62

Fireworks season stats around Thanksgiving here and ends about a week after the first of the year. Starting at 11:57 it was a constant loud roar, like a dragon growling or a low flying group of 50 747s. Surprisingly, no gunshots that I could distinguish.

My New Year's Day will be spent indoors, following the morning chores. There is a little snow falling.
As some of you know, I have a date for tomorrow, January 2, for a Colonoscopy. So, today is a fasting day with a gallon of water fortified with 258 grams of polyethylene glycol consumed in three hours plus a heap o' laxative tablets. So, a busy but lonely time.

I have a few jars of kimchi, buried in the backyard, that should be ready for consumption.😁 are you for real? I've made kimchi before, but just countertop kind. I didn't have the little shrimp, so I used shrimp fish sauce instead. Didn't seem to make a difference, flavor wise.

Yes I am a naughty fellow who placed a 😁 as a warning to others. The bright spot is I have enjoyed Kimchi in the past. I find the flavors melt together where some components are pushed to the background.
