I’ve been enjoying Greem Mountain Columbian, Dunkin Donuts Columbian and a few others I can pick up at Lowe’s Foods. I don’t like “ K “ cup coffee due to the damage of our environment. If I use a “ K “ cup machine I ALWAYS use one of my reusable mesh coffee baskets. I prefer the old style perk or French press method.
For a number of years I preferred Kona or Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee.......for me it’s not worth the money!!

I've been buying whole beans and grinding fresh daily for 32 years ... roasting my own for about 15 years. However, this last couple of years, I've been slacking and need to get back into it again. My favorite beans are generally from Ethiopia and Kenya and at a medium to medium-dark roast. The roaster I use is a Behmor 1600 that can do about a pound at a time.

SF Bay Area place, "Peet's" French Roast is the best I've ever had. I buy the beans and grind them at home, brew it up in a French Press. When I'm lazy, I'll make instant Nescafe Dark Roast.

Jamaica Blue Mountain today is not the same coffee that made Blue Mountain famous. In the early 70s a hurricane wiped out the varietal. The Japanese stepped in and offer to replant but they get 1st dibs on anything good that grows. They replanted with a hybrid varietal that is not the same. However, a plantation in Papua New Guinea called Sigri Estate AA was created from the original Blue Mountain varietal. If you can find it online it is worth it to try a piece of a coffee legend.

I use a burr grinder and an aeropress for my coffee... But I adulterate it with loads of milk, so I think that defeats the purpose.
I do like the ritual of coffee making though.

I might be weird but like pipe smoking, I like reading about others likes and "rituals". The only time I get "fancy" with my coffee is when a barista is making it. At home its whole bean, medium roast Eight O'Clock coffee. Ground in a cheap grinder, steaped in hot water then poured through a reusable filter. I tend to drink it black but at times add stevia to sweeten it and/or add flavoring. Here and there as a treat, a bit of creamer too. The flavoring I use I think is pretty great. Unlike others, it has no sweetener added to them so you can go as plain or sweet as you like. Really powerful stuff too. Each pump is just a drop and for my taste buds, one drop is all I need in a single cup. weldonflavorings.com

As a small boy, coffee making in a Cajun house was an art, Mellow Joy, Seaport, or Community was the blend of choice. You boiled your water and then eased the hot water slowly on a small drip pot making the cream we called the stuff that rose from the hot water, sometimes as high as 3 inches high. Small cups were the norm, as a couple sips were all you need as it was black and almost like syrup. Those were the days.

I haven't tried this method and keep meaning to do so. This guy runs a pretty successful chuck wagon business and I know has at least one cook book.
Has anyone tried this before?

I would rather drink instant if I don't use the French Press. My son uses his aeropress which is the best of both worlds if you use the refillable cup and use boiling water.

I generally favor coffee beans from Ethiopia ("where coffee began") and Kenya. Otherwise, I like dark roasted coffee. I'm currently on a Starbucks Komodo Dragon kick and that's what I'm drinking right now.

We used to do this when I was in the scouts. For the adults only though. They were all veterans of WW2 and tough. The boys would build a fire and put the water on Friday night before we put up the tents. The men would keep adding coffee and water all weekend until Sunday afternoon after the tents and equipment was all packed up. The coffee pot was the last thing on the last fire before we put it out. The boy who misbehaved most got to take the pot home and wash it. I never tasted it my self, but by Sunday morning the men were always making jokes about boiled socks and the like.

I drink either Lavazza, medalia d’oro or cafe bustelo at home. Outside the house I am more of a dunkin guy over Starbucks. My twin brother always fights me on that.

I use a Cuisinart coffee maker with unbleached paper filters, with a metal mesh insert as a backup in case I run out of Melittas. I tried many wonderful whole grain offerings from Brett and other coffee e-tailers for several years, but in the last year or so I've settled with a blend that I love and is always accessible, Eight O' Clock coffee Colombian Peaks. It always hits the spot with breakfast, which is about the only time I brew it, with a few exceptions now and then. I drink it in a 20 oz. mug that is handpainted and a sight to behold.

I use a Cuisinart Grind & Brew with whole bean Jumpy Monkey Good Morning Blend. Jumpy Monkey is a small company out of Iowa that donates a portion of profits to help disabled adults. I used to buy it at Sams, but they stopped carrying it, so I buy direct, 10 pounds at a time.
My doc told me to use heavy cream as opposed to other creamers, so I follow his orders.

I’m with you....Dunkin Donuts coffee outside the house👍👍. I don’t enjoy Starbucks, I find most blends bitter or burnt. Oh do I miss 7-11 coffee from NY!!!

Whatever is on sale that has oily beans and makes coffee you can slice. I don't think I have bought pre ground coffee in fifteen years. I use a Krups steamer espresso machine and it makes about 14oz leaving room for cream. I never wash the inside of the cup sometimes my wife does on purpose when she gets mad at me. The worst part about good coffee is it makes all other coffee suck.

A lot of times I boil my coffee on the stove the same way. My dad likes his simply smooth coffee, or whatever it is. I take after my grandfather, he would only drink coffee from a percolator pot... grounds and all. I like mine STRONG and very dark. Boiling it brings out more flavor as well.
If I wanted to drink something smooth with no flavor, I'd stick to water.

Have been drinking chiccory coffee for over 30 years now, either French Market or Community, 'Nawlins style ( lots of cream and sugar ) . Recently I picked up some Cafe' Bustelo espresso and have enjoyed the change. I've used a French Press for all these years and am using with the espresso as well !

I buy Kenya beans from an old Guatemalan couple in town who roast their own.
I get a pound, then grind half in a Krups grinder and keep it in a glass container, making sure to wash thoroughly before adding new grounds.
I use a stainless steel pitcher and filter (along with a paper filter) to brew using Poland spring from the water cooler boiled in a stainless steel kettle. I rinse everything immediately and set it to dry.
I bought a chemex a few years ago and it broke pretty quickly, so I just made another using stainless steel parts.
I hate coffee residue and dirty machines, and the pour over method makes the cleanest cup of black coffee every single time.
I don't consider myself a coffee snob, I'll drink coffee from wherever...I'm just very particular at home.
