Any loose leaf tea fans out there? It's a daily indulgence for me normally twice between meals. It really hits the spot with a smoke. Currently, I keep reaching for this one. It's my favorite white tea: www.californiateahouse.com/organic-white-tea/caribbean-cream#/tea_size-4Their Yunnan Golden Buds is my favorite black tea blend, just straight tea goodness - Finest kind. If you want to go a little off the trail, another of theirs I can recommend is Lemon Meringue Pie. I've done everything I can to like Matcha tea but have thrown in the towel on that one. It's extremely popular, just not my thing. It tastes too bitter for me. You might prefer this one if you're an IPA enthusiast and enjoy a lot of hops. California Tea House is great and you'll get bonus cash and specials too, pretty much like tobacco e-tailers. Another popular e-tailer is Tea Source ( teasource.com ) located near St Paul, MN. They have over 200 teas, great specials and have been around approximately twenty years. Favorite additives include Ripple Half & Half ( ripplefoods.com ) and Kroger liquid Stevia Blend, both of which can be scored at Kroger. What does anybody else dig on?

I prefer loose leaf tea.
That reminds me, I need a tea cozy. I have been using a knit watch cap.

Also, you mention "loose leaf"... a thoughtful friend of mine gave me a French Press for tea... she was concerned that I was using a tea ball...

I enjoy tea quite a bit, been drinking some Alwaza black tea that has been great for the price. I'll have to check out the tea house and teasource.com thanks for that. I enjoy exploring tea and different favors, and I'll second that it goes well with pipe smoking. A whole world of pairings I'm sure. Got to enjoy some legit Chinese Pu'er tea one time, it was lovely.

It's easy. Add your water, steep, set it on top of your cup, brew seeps out the bottom into the cup, enjoy. Cleans up in a flash.

They have bag tea at work I try sometimes. Its pretty good to me. Nice change of pace sometimes from coffee all day. I might try loose leaf now, especially if I can get one of those things 10furlongs posted. Looks pretty great.

My wife and I drink a lot of tea. We have a variety of brands, but my favorites come from Tea Forte. I love their Black Currant. Black tea with a touch of currant flavor. If you couldn't guess from the name.

I see parallels between tea and tobacco, as I'm sure many of you do. Both have deep histories which flow through the centuries on a world wide basis. They really are the perfect complements.

I don't drink tea as much as I used to but my favorites are Earl Grey and Lapsang souchong. I love the smoky character of LS.

My wife is a tea nut. She makes puehr tea gongfu style (a lot of leaf in a tiny pot, steeped many times with the same leaves for very short times). I prefer a black tea with milk and sugar.

There are tea shops around where you can do tastings,it can be a lot of fun trying different teas, and then zeroing in on the ones you like. Then you can purchase those types and bring them home.If you have never done this,I highly recommend it.Theres a lot of very knowledgeable people in these type of establishments. There's a few in SF and even one nearby me in Salinas that I have been to.They will also show you how to make it properly, how long to steep certain types for the best experience.

I’ve been drinking more coffee than tea lately but was almost exclusively loose leaf tea a few years ago. Upton Tea Co. is my online source. My daily morning tea is Earl Grey w/extra bergamot. I like blends with Lapsang Souchong or LS straight. I brew with a basket in the cup or pot.

My favorite tea is Darjeeling. Strangely enough I like it with sugar and cream. However the best I’ve ever had was what I was told as being from the first flower. It was quite delicate and had somewhat of a floral note. Surprisingly the tea was almost clear. It had just a hint of color. Being expensive it is rare that I prepare any of this particular variety. Regular Darjeeling works for me most of the time.

In a show of solidarity, I gave up coffee when my wife got pregnant. Took up tea. I haven't had a ton of loose leaf, but one of my favorite types is laphsang souchong (sp?).
I really enjoyed it. I should buy more.

We ran some vehicles over to the Eugene, OR airport this morning from the Redmond, OR airport, and then returned with some 4 wheel vehicles. Snowing both ways over the Cascade Mountain Range, up and over the Santiam Pass. I was driving the Ford F150 4x4, and had it shifted to 4A for the drive up the snowy pass. Worked like a charm. So, after a day of driving, it was nice to return home to a box received from the California Tea House. Broke it open which revealed my order: TEAWARE-SS-18OZ Sleek Steep Tea Infuser Caribbean Cream - Tea Size : 4oz Vanilla Creme Earl Grey - Tea Size : 4oz Organic Yunnan Golden Buds - Tea Size : 2oz The Sleek Steep Tea Infuser really rocks! I placed a heaping tablespoon of Caribbean Cream in the infuser, pour some not so boiling water (10oz) inside and closed the lid to let it steep for 3min. After steeping, you place the infuser on top of your cup, and the tea drains through the internal mesh filter into your cup. Easy clean out too. Made two cups this evening and what a great tasting white tea. The finish really changes as the tea turns from hot to cool. A number of times, the finish reminds me of bourbon (you know, when you sip a bourbon and the finish thereafter). Just that brief bourbon finish here and there (but of course, there is no bourbon in the tea). Really good stuff! @10furlongs Thanks for the lead on this web site brother

My mother used to get Fortnum & Mason tea by mail when I was a kid. I found a shop in Dallas and now get there Lapsang Souchon loose tea. I love the smokey deep flavour it has and it goes well with most English / Balkan blends.

The Golden Buds were my first real black hot tea love. It just clicked with my palate like fine tobacco. CC and the Golden Buds dominate my tea cellar. I wish I would have been that smart with my tobacco cellar.

Yunnan Golden Buds this morning, and pairs up well with the last of my corn bread for breakfast this morning. No sweetener needed for YGB as there's just a faint sweetness on the finish here. @10furlongs Ha! Hopefully, the province of Yunnan will not go out of business anytime soon to preclude a mad rush to hoard the last of their YGB

My good friend who was in S Asia during the time I was there , came back and is now a Buddhist Monk, smokes the pipe and cigars, send me Pur euh tea cakes, hard pressed, very old, good stuff, he included instructions, throw the first brew away. It’s a good flavor, haven’t had some in a while, you’ve awakened the tea urge in me.

One thing tea and tobacco have in common is you're always only a couple sips away from your next favorite. I greatly enjoy morning coffee but tea seems to have more upside for the curious looking for another journey more similar to tobacco.
