I'm amazed at some of the food people love that I find terrible. For example, White Castle (tiny steamed burgers?), Provel Cheese Pizza in St Louis ( Tastes like Velveeta cheese pizza). I used to love Beefaroni when I was a kid but it tastes horrible now. What foods fit this category for you?

As a kid, Brussels Sprouts were not among my favorites. Now, I cannot get enough of them.
I have not eaten Beefaroni in a long time but there are two cans of Chef Boyardee Beef Raviolis in my pantry with the canned goods emergency supply. Ditto Dinty Moore Beef Stew. Neither are great eating unless stuck at home owing to weather conditions.

To my surprise many people don't share my enthusiasm for eye ball tacos, chicken gizzards, lamb kidneys, etc. I remember liking cheese whizz as a kid when it still came in an airated can but now feel repulsed by how it looks.

I ate a can and, while it wasn't as good as I remembered as a kid, it was better than the recent stuff.

Unlike you, Gav...I love my little WhiteCastle cheeseburgers..to me the are a great lunch...Like Tosh, I used to hate Brussels Sprouts and now can not get enough of them. Tastes change over time...liver and onions to me are a great meal...used to hate them when my mother made it...time changed all that for me.

When I was a kid fried bologna was considered a treat. By comparison the neighbors often had to eat fried store brand canned dog food. My mom's liver was as tough as an old boot, but I like it at restaurants. Salmon patties, Kraft Pineapple Cheese Spread, Blue Ribbon Summer Sausage, Oscar Mayer Liverwurst, cabbage rolls.

Liverworst; dad loved it, so we had to eat it. Didn't love it then, and still don't.
Since you mentioned them...another vote for Whiteys. I grew up loving those gut grenades...and at 56...I can still down about 8 of them at a sitting.

I was lucky. My mother didn’t like liver. But Spam would show up about once a month at dinner. I still don’t like it. She loved Chow mein or Chop Suey. So we went out about twice a month for that, I would order a turkey sandwich at the Chinese restaurant. It was actually the best I’ve eaten to this day. No clue why. I eventually learned to like Chinese as I got older. And in regards to White Castle, I don’t even need to be drunk to eat them!

Until about 10 years ago I disliked pumpkin pie. Now I crave it and pumpkin pie ice cream as well. Part of my change of life?? I never enjoyed canned pasta of any kind or canned vegetables for that matter.

The two things I hated as a kid but really like now are roast and pork chops. My poor mother could cook both with no heat and burn them. It took me a few years to let Kim make either one and I must say she makes one of the roasts I've ever had. Her pork chops are also good and juicy. When we got married I weighed 145 lbs and at 25 years was up to 230 this time last year. I just got a couple below 200 and am eating very well just not as much of her good cooking.

My son-in-law is from the hills of North Carolina and he eats some kind of godless abomination called "liver mush". I reckon you gotta be raised on the stuff...

Had to learn to like ham. Dad would cook ham steaks till they tasted like rubber. When I went to work with my Step-Dad he taught me the joys of thinly sliced ham. I buy sixty to one hundred pounds at a time if I get a price.

Growing up in Austin we had Whataburger. In the comics, Jughead was always eating a dozen burgers,.....I don’t think so. Many years later I ended up at a White Castle in Columbus, Ohio. I finally understood,....yankee hamburgers!!

The one thing I can't eat to this day is bologna. May 16 will be 45 years since my last bologna sandwich. Had lunch at school and went out for recess came in and was told I had a baby brother. Became immediately ill. Must have been a warning of what an arse he would be later in life.

Bread mayonnaise salt pepper and a thick slice of beefsteak tomato, peanut butter and dill pickle sandwiches, peanut butter and banana works too. Seems like these are regional.

I cant eat Bologna to this day. It seemed like that was the only lunch "meat" er had growing up. Ate it plain, in sandwiches, fried, in grilled cheese, in crackers... everything. I honestly cant remember a time in the last 17 years that I've even touched the stuff. Side note: my grandmother used to get ring bologna from the deli, that stuff was a whole different thing.
Cottage cheese... was always served with meals with paprika over the top... like that was going to make a difference. Will not even look at it today.
White castle love em, same with Krystal's. I can easily down 6 of them. Back in the day of "munchies" I could get more down.
Oddly I liked beef liver when I was younger and I cant stand it now. Chicken liver I hated but now I can tolerate it fried. (I never order this but if someone has a few I'll snag them).

No liver for me at anytime sir but, I do love Chicken Gizzards if prepared properly. Boiled to tenderness and the chicken fried, yeah love me some right now.

Potatoes, especially potato soup. I think my Mother made enough of it when I was younger to fill an olympic size swimming pool. I can eat and enjoy potato soup now. Also the same with pinto beans, I think we eat enough pinto beans to fill in a farm pond, now I can eat enough pinto beans to fill in a farm pond, go figure? I can also say that I never went hungry.
