Never got with Canned Boiled Peanuts, during my time down South, though freshly boiled were a lot better. I have a big can of those and do not know what to do with them. I had them fresh once and I kind of liked them, but I don't expect to eat them again. It's a New Orleans to Florida thing, mostly Georgia.

Bologna gravy instead of sausage gravy...wife makes it from an old Kentucky recipe...over Bays English muffins toasted...when I heard of it, I thought no way...til I tasted her bologna gravy...now I can't get it often enough. It sounds interesting. I loved fried bologna when I was a kid, you know, until I found out it's the taste of extreme poverty.

My dad's step-father grew up in a Norwegian-American family and my grandmother would make lutefisk for him every Christmas. My dad liked about anything edible, except that. I remember being served bologna sandwiches when I was really young (gag) ... but never since. Not a fan. Loved, and still love, pickled herring. Pickled herring is wonderful.

That sounds so weird but it also has me interested in trying it out. So are we talking all beef bologna and thick cut? Specific brand? I'm gonna take notes here and one day (not sure when) give it a go.

Cut a thick piece and fry in a skillet. Your next slice at the end melt a sharp cheddar. The flavors will blow your mind......not your wallet.

I've never heard of boiled peanuts. What the heck?
The peanuts we have are roasted and salted.

I've never heard of boiled peanuts. What the heck? The peanuts we have are roasted and salted. As they say here in the states, "its a southern thing." And boiled peanuts truly are. Canned is OK. Gives one an idea but not the full picture. Fresh, as with anything, is best. Its not bad stuff though.

I'm telling you guys, you haven't lived until you have had real, homemade boudin and not that stuff they sell commercially in the grocery stores.
