I love the 2 GBD pipes that were gifted to me. I also love pipes with a big bend. Here's a GBD Prehistoric Oom Paul. This is how it looked when I first got it.

The air way was almost completely clogged. 15 pipe cleaners later all is clear. The stem was a huge pita to clean But now its finally finished.

Thank you... LOTS of wet sanding today... and I mean LOTS
That's not a chip in the stem in the first picture, it was fuzz.

Thank you all. I'll update sometime tomorrow.
I'm not going to spend too much time on the bowl itself. The plan is to clean the grime off and polish it up just a little bit.

That's a great looking stem Josh. You would think it was glass! Maybe I need to send you an old Custom-Bilt pipe to polish-up

I'd be happy to. Turns out I get hyper focused when working on a pipe. Just gotta hope it doesnt get lost by USPS like my Rum Flake has

Thank you all again.
I'll find out how it smokes soon enough. The hardest part for me is always deciding what to put through it first.

Very nice! I have a couple of Hungarians (aka the O-P shape) that I really like, esp for smoking in the car.

They sit nicely while driving I find it funny when people notice and stare at you like a zoo animal. Or make sure everyone in their car sees you as well

Outstanding work Josh. The Prehistoric is my favorite finish in the GBD line. Owning several in this line I can say in all honesty that they are superb smoking pipes. JMO but I think GBDs are way under priced and are a super value.

Pretty cool that you enjoy de browning GBD stems Josh... cooler yet that you provide the service for free to fellow puke smokers... PM me for shipping info!
(Yes, I realize that autocorrect inserted “ puke” instead of “pipe”... but I left it.. in the brown is pukish.

After Trailboss sends you his pukes, maybe I can be next on the list?😁

Man, I'm always amazed that they found some way to drill those things. I can't figure out how this one was done.
Great job on the stem, sir.

They didn’t relegate sandblasts to the “entry level.” Many, if not most, had hand cut stems.

Man, I'm always amazed that they found some way to drill those things. I can't figure out how this one was done. Great job on the stem, sir. If you draw it on a piece of graph paper, it becomes clear. On this pipe, specifically, the draught hole probably does not meet perfectly between shank and tenon. It is likely that some airspace is allowed in the mortise, “below” the end of the tenon.

GBD made some nice blasts. Stem is looking good. I love some before/after shots. Be sure to let us see when it’s back together.
