This thread does make me feel like a hoarder. I cracked a tin of FMC last night, took a quick inventory and didn't think much until seeing this thread this morning. I have: 8 100g Dark Star 11 100g FMC 7 100g FMOTT 14 100g FM 2 lbs ish of 5100 Christmas Cheer from 2013 on 4 40th Anniversaries 2 100g No. 27 15 50g Boston 1776 10 Nording Beagle 10 Nording Labrador 10 Nording Fox Hound 10 Nording Retriever 10ish ounces of Navy Cavendish 5ish ounces of 2020 5ish ounces of 2000 1 50g Yendji 1 50g Dominican Glory Maduro Not that I initially hoarded them, more like if I planned to smoke one tin, I bought three. Now that McClellands is no more, I am pretty happy that I did build my cellar that way. Hoarding, collecting, is there a difference?

At least that is what I tell myself everytime I check ebay for McClelland blends!

Other than a couple of pounds of FMC, and couple of tins of Christmas Cheer, I just have a few odds and ends. 2 tins of Holiday Spirit, Town Topic, and some I can't remember at the moment.

Nothing cellared but have a little 5100, 13 and 14 Christmas cheer, and a small amount of Blackwoods Flake.
If I started smoking earlier than I did, I would have many pounds of 5100. By far my #1 tobacco.
It's ok though, I have PLENTY of others that I enjoy.

I have supplemented my 5100 usage with Sutliff's 515RC, which is not an exact match to 5100 but it has the 5100ish tang to it that scratches the itch.

It takes a month or two to balance out after stoving so it should get even better. I know stoving is not aging but it can give an impression. Either way, I have some stoved for myself and unstoved cellared away letting time do its magic. Also, 515 is great when stoved and pressed into a cake.

I JUST had it out about 20 mins ago. I'll need a cleaver for it. It smells fantastic. It's also kind oily, so I imagine it's gonna be fantastic.

I've been fortunate to put away enough McClelland to last me the rest of my days. Mostly the Grand Oriental Series, Red & Black and McCranies Red Flake. The funny thing about the Grand Oriental Series was it was released in '07 and sat on the shelves forever. I steadily bought it for years and would keep getting '07 tins.

Another funny thing about it is that hardly anyone seemed to care about them....until it was too late. I guess that's why there are so many 2007 tins out there. It took a long time for them to sell out.

I forgot McCranie's Red Flake and Ribbon - 18 tins from the 2008 and 2011 cuts on hand.

I didn't much get into the McClelland thing, though I did like the Red Virginias that they produced. Maybe 30 or so tins of McCranie's 1996, 2000, 2008 Red Ribbon and Red Flake; 20 or so tins of Christmas Cheer from various years; a crapload of 40th. 20 or so tins of the Virginia numbers, 10 tins of Red & Black, 10 tins of Tawney Flake, 4 or 5 tins of Jubilee, a few tins of Dark Star, a few tins of each of various Frogs from 2013, Blackwoods Flake, Virginia Woods; a couple of lbs each, more or less, of 2015, 5100, 2100, and ECR; 10 tins of Balkan Blue, several tins each of Beacon, Beacon Extra, and Tudor Castle; the odd tin of Deep Hollow, and other McClelland Aros, Yenidge Supreme, and probably a few other odds and ends. Most of this accumulated over the last 6 years, with the intention of smoking some of it and just not getting around to it and buying more without knowing I had some in the bins. I knew about the closure well before it was announced and could have stockpiled a lot, but only limited to the Numbers, the 40th, and a few others to try out.

I have some early Frog blends, which I'll probably sell or trade some day as I lost interest in them. I have 10 tins of Tudor Castle, and one Black Parrot. I have a few first production Anniversary tins, one Jubilee, a couple 40th Anniversary tins,a few Christmas Cheers, a Rose of Latakia (bored with that, too), a couple tins of Super Balkan, and several misc. tins, but I don't remember what they are. Some of the latter are from 1990s. Have some 5100 in a jar or two.
The Art's Virginia blend that my friend Art made is 5100, 2010, and 20% X-90 burley. I have a bit of that.

Yeah... McCrainies certainly is a McClelland product also, I think I got 10 tins each of the ribbon and flake on their last run.
I feel sorry for them, collateral damage when Mike closed up shop... If I was still cellar building, I would buy from them.

I forgot Butera. Pelican used to be one of my favorites. I have a few tins left. I'll miss this one when they're gone.

Pelican actually does turn up once in a while in very limited quantities (like, fewer than Penzance or Stonehaven, it seems), so it's not quite discontinued.

Didn't McClelland blend for Butera and Nording? I have several Nording blends and yes, they say on the back of the label, blended by McClelland for Nording.

That's what I thought, but it's listed as McClelland on Tobaccoreviews.com. It makes sense, because it's similar to Penzance, which is also made by Germain.

Didn't McClelland blend for Butera and Nording? They also made Benjamin Hartwell, though there are new versions of those. Easy to distinguish because of the McC-style tins vs the more usual disc-type tins. And they made various blends for shops, like Iwan Reis Gourmet English, Tinder Box 1928 etc.. All gone, of course.... And many if not most were probably the same as existing McC blends. I'm pretty sure Hartwell Chesdin Mixture was FM Original, and Nording Foxhound is pretty much FM On the Town.

All of the above, except TQ and 605. I also have several tins from the defunct Peddler's Village which have McC stamps. They were screening stuff from Mike and Mary for house tins. The serials are from early 90s and before.

I bought a bunch of tins of Mcclellands when I heard they were going under. Mostly from local B&Ms. The going price on Ebay for FMC on the bay is $100. Crazy. Think I'd rather sell a tin of FMC and buy 6 tins of something else lol
