Was looking through my cellar this morning and making note of the Frog Mortons, Anniversary, Christmas Cheer (2018) and Virginia Woods 100g tins I've put away, and stumbled across three I forgot about entirely. I've got 2 oz tins of Brindle Flake (2017), Rose of Latakia (2015) and 3 Oaks (2017). Nothing too old, as I only started smoking McClelland in 2015. What have you managed to hold on to from the venerable now defunct brand?

I have a few pounds of assorted McC. blends, but if I had gotten word of the closing, it would be much more.

None [wish i did] ... Never smoked anything McClelland . 'what kind of piper is this guy' ... ? Right there with you, except for some bulk Oriental Cavendish that I found at a b&m. It's ok, but nothing like I'd imagine the good stuff to be.

I have a number of various McClelland tobacco’s, my most recent is the tins of their 40th Anniversary that was released in 2017. It’s AJ’s fault, we were gifting tobacco’s up and back, AJ got me started/hooked on McC’s 40th Anniversary. After a couple more years of aging it will be stupendous 👌👍👍

Most to least plentiful: Frog Morton, 3 Oaks Syrian, Beacon Extra, Dark Star, 40th Anniversary, 2015 Holiday Spirit, Virginia Woods, 5100 and Wilderness. I have about 6lbs total of Frog Morton (in both tin sizes), and on the other end for scarcity, just one tin of Wilderness. Being a fan of their product, I acquired most before news of their closing, some after it was announced and a couple of tins after what was in the supply chain was gone. The last couple of tins I bought, came from Pipestud. Those were the 40th Anniversary.

I forget who rang the closing bell for McClelland on here, but I am thankful for the early warning. Also, glad I took their word. I bought what I could afford and then some.
15 or so Frog Morton blends in 100g tins. Think I bought 6 each, but filled rotation jars with a few. 8 Tins of Bulkan Blue 8 Tins of Arcadia A tin of some anniversary tobacco. The one with the white paper and wax seal. Couple tins of VA No26 or whatever it is. 20 Random tins of any and all blends I could get. I didn't know what was good, so I spread my money around. I really just wanted to experience as many as I could.
Haha Oh yeah, 8oz bag of Townsman Cavendish!
Not sure any are old though. I did get a couple of the Brindle and Three Oaks.. and Tudor. I knew those were good from reviews.

I too missed the McClelland train. I did manage to find some bulk a few months ago and bought a few ounces of Dark English and NO. 1 Balkan. I wish I had gotten into this game earlier because I would have loved to try Dark Star (that stuff sounds amazing, and I love the name) and the Frog series. I'm sure I would have enjoyed those.

I started in the fall of 2016. So except for a few tins gifted to me by a good friend, nothung older than 2016. I have cellars in 2 places, hence 2 lists. I try to keep a inventory so to speak of what I have. So I don’t purchase duplicates thinking I may not have tried something! LOL. This is all cellar, and not what is in rotation. Several of these I have never tried.
McClelland’s 3 Oaks Cyprian. (8) 1.750z 40th Anniversary (2) 100g 2010 8oz? mason jar 2015 8oz mason jars (6 oz & 2 oz mason jar) 2020 2oz. Mason jar 2035 (2) 40z mason jars 5100 22oz in 3 mason jars 2010/5100 mixture 6oz mason jar Balkan Beauty 1.75oz Balkan Blue. 1.75oz Frog Morton. 1.75oz Frog Morton Across the Pond. 1.75oz. (2) 100g Frog Morton Cellar 100g Legends (3) 1.75oz Tudor Castle. (2) 1.75oz
McClelland’s Balkan Beauty 2oz Jubilee 2oz Legends 2oz 3 Oaks Cyprian (3) 2oz Orient 996 2oz 40th Anniversary (2) 100g 5100 7oz mason jar 2035 8oz mason jar
I may have mislabled some of the tin weights on these over time, example 1.75 instead of 2 oz or vice versa. Thanks to the BP, I wouldn’t have most of these. But was guided to them by many here. Or caught up in the moment, 40th for example.

I'm too disorganized to know exactly. What I do know is that McClelland blends are in the "a whole bunch" category of my filing system. Mostly in latakia and VA blends. The only McClelland aromatic I ever liked was Holiday Spirit from various years so I do have some tins of that too.

This thread does make me feel like a hoarder. I cracked a tin of FMC last night, took a quick inventory and didn't think much until seeing this thread this morning. I have: 8 100g Dark Star 11 100g FMC 7 100g FMOTT 14 100g FM 2 lbs ish of 5100 Christmas Cheer from 2013 on 4 40th Anniversaries 2 100g No. 27 15 50g Boston 1776 10 Nording Beagle 10 Nording Labrador 10 Nording Fox Hound 10 Nording Retriever 10ish ounces of Navy Cavendish 5ish ounces of 2020 5ish ounces of 2000 1 50g Yendji 1 50g Dominican Glory Maduro
Not that I initially hoarded them, more like if I planned to smoke one tin, I bought three. Now that McClellands is no more, I am pretty happy that I did build my cellar that way.
