Smoker's Haven Our Best Blend in a gold banded IMP blasted apple meerschaum. Pretty nice Balkan, exceptionally smooth as these go. Listening to Ohio State and Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl on ESPN radio, hot black tea with lemon on the side.

Happy New Year, smoking St. Bruno in my Bruno Freehand feeling revived , had dinner as a guest of some family. Went on a pub crawl, for the first time for decades, chasing my youth with a hip flask of Captain Morgan Original spiced gold Rum, the intention was to drink a glass of rum in five local bars, the first two were ticket only, so had a chat with a local gentleman in a hotel with a Polish & Irish barman, & a lady like Morgana, then a busy sporty bar with dancing and bar ladies to die for, then a beautiful lady came to the bar , a beauty , who gave me such a charming glance I felt young with the merriment, next a traditional workers bar, I was made at home with another Rum & the local host & his Bulgarian homely wife & a young couple invited me to join them , a polish blonde biology PhD , who had studied in the States as well, a falcon of the white feather, her husband was a Liverpool Mathematician both working at Liverpool University, high on spirits , the fine lady was expecting their first baby, great Craic, we fell in love & I had a couple of rounds with them, & exchanged cards, I kissed the ladies fine ivory hand, & shared some rum outside with the young gentleman, had a bearhug & I walked home , the fast foods places were closed, listening to Jools Holland with performances by Chaka Khan, Christine and the Queens, Roy Wood, Rag'n'Bone Man, Gregory Porter, Martin Fry's ABC, UB40 featuring Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey Virtue, Seasick Steve, Caravan Palace, Imelda May, John Cooper Clarke and Hugh Cornwell, and Ruby Turner, plus appearances by a host of celebrities. Lunted Pop after midnight amidst the fireworks, starting on a little whisky, & pipe. Best New year for years.

Almost half way through this bowl of D&R Rimboche A.P. in a smooth straight WW2 Pre-Republic Peterson Sterling Canadian with a sterling silver band and a black vulcanite p-lip stem. Have enough left for a bowl or so. M'lady and I went out for a wonderful Mexican dinner this evening, and when we returned, Suzy was standing at the door, looking very disapproving of our leaving her. She can give "the stare" like no other cat I've ever seen. Molly was too busy sleeping to notice we were gone. Relaxing now as we watch The Three Stooges marathon starring 10Furlongs,PaPipeguy,and Baboo.

Looks like Clemson's night, handling Ohio State tonight. Last smoke of the evening is Solani 660 Silver Flake in a blasted Baki bent poker meerschaum. Finishing a can of A&W Root Beer 10 and then off to bed. Only a couple hours left in this thread. See y'all next year.
