In recent postings, @legend Lover seemed mildly baffled about American's use of peanuts, so thought we might as well show him what we do with it on bread. Not too steal anyone's thunder, I'll keep it simple and go with the classic Peanut Butter and Jelly. Please list your favorite combo.

I'm simple so the classic is all I really know.
I heard Elvis Presley liked a peanut butter, banana and bacon sandwich though.

Haven't had it with jam in a long time.

Peanut butter and horseradish on wheat. yikes that's an interesting combination. A very happy accident. Thought I had a honey packet, put it on the bread, realized my mistake, tried it and loved it!❤

I just realised I echoed Walt's previous post. It's still something I doubt I'll ever try.

PB & strawberry jam/preserves is my desert a couple times a week.
Peanut Butter, sliced tomato on rye is great. PB, sliced banana & mayo on a good white bread.

I insist upon grinding my own at the supermarket as today's prepared peanut butter does not meet my rigid standard of quality. The last factory butter which was acceptable was "Deaf Smith" brand from Texas. That was back in the 1970s and I have not found one since. Most factory stuff is too oily and overground. Then there is added oil and sugar. The butter I grind at the market is more of a crunchy paste and it is perfect for me.
Peanut butter can be sub-classified according to what goes on the other slice of bread. There are:
Bananas, always good, the riper the better.
Jam/Jelly/Preserves. Bonne Mamman Strawberry or Apricot being Numero Uno with me.
Honey. That was my first sandwich as a very young child and I still remember it. So, clearly, it made an impact.
Horseradish, mayonnaise, potato salad, green chile, coleslaw, bacon, spam, none of these belong in my peanut butter sandwich.
I am interested in trying ripe avocado. Ditto humus which is made with ground sesame seeds (tahini). Although, I suspect greater satisfaction will be had with a sweet rather than savory samitch.
To all out there, experimenting as you are, the world is yours. Try what you will and report back. The Ground Nut offers unlimited potential.

My buddy made me take a bite of a peanut butter combo that sounds dreadful, but is actually pretty good: peanut butter and mayonnaise! You have to be forced to take the first bite, because it sounds positively awful. That said, if I have jam or jelly, the mayo's staying in the fridge. Don't discount the fact there's no cooking, no appreciable prep time, and only one knife to wash

As a kid, I liked PB & Sweet Pickles. As an adult, it kinda makes for soggy going.

Paddington bear likes Marmalade that orange concoction of sugars and rinds and it goes so well with peanut butter and banana. Really any fresh fruit and peanut butter is a hit.

I've considered whipped Marshmallow Creme, but yet to try. A bit of a sugar overload?

Have a cafe down here that puts peanut butter and honey on a cheeseburger. Messy, but tastes great.
