Anyone ever wear Iron Age boots? My neighbor used to sell them at industrial sites 40+ years ago. I see that they are making them again, but judging by the price they are made in China.

 When I was at Exxon, we worked contractors, I could Order safety equip by the pallets full, gear for contractors cost a pretty penny, during a turnaround I would give them a pep talk, and tell them where pallets of safety glasses and gloves would be staged at, but if I heard they were abusing this I would severely abuse them. Never had any trouble with them, they worked hard for me, you got to treat people like you want to be treated. PS many Exxon hands bought 2 pair of Red Wings and gave contractor friends a pair, times were tough, boots cost a lot.

And now we're back to why so many boots are made in China. That's just stooopid! I would prefer to have boots made in Mexico. They know how to do it for a good price. Not really contractors boots though I have seen many guys working on oil rigs in the old days wearing them. |
