for reference... I like light cream in my coffee..half and half is the usual...heavy cream is a bit rich...no it is TOO good and I will drink it all in a pot of coffee.. forget milk... I used to drink eveaporated milk in my coffee..that was an ethnic thing..all of the old Ukrainians in my family used to drink it so I did too, then one day it grossed me out and i stopped using it.. www.thespruceeats.com/understanding-different-kinds-of-milk-and-cream-3050535

I'm good for at least a pot of Black Coffee a day.
When I do add something to it, it's a tab or two of butter. Commonly known as "full tilt" coffee. But that's only once or twice a month or so.

Only Communists and persons of low moral fiber adulterate their coffee with dairy products or synthetic sweeteners. Real Americans drink their coffee as black and bitter as their sense of humor. With each sip they recall the tribulations of their fore-bearers- Washington at Valley Forge, Lee at Gettysburg, Pershing in France, "Wood-Stein" and Watergate. American coffee is often overcooked and consumed out of desperation.
Just kidding, of course. Many fine people enjoy their coffee with cream, milk, and artificial additives.

I prefer ½ & ½ in my coffee when I take any creamer at all...sometimes I use whipping cream if it is something special that would be enhanced by using it. When it is cafe con leche then it is whole milk that is used. Same. Half and Half most days, and heavy whipping cream on special occasions.

I'm one of those "babies" who adds coffee to my cup of cream and sugar. That's called 'Nawlins style. It's best with chiccory coffee which is what and how I've done it for over 60 years !

I make a very strong cup using a steamer and often add sugar and cream. I don't consider it wimp coffee and if I ever make you cup after being unable to blink for many hours you wont call it wimp coffee anymore.

Black!
For cream though.... I could drink a glass of heavy cream... the nice thing about fresh milk deliveries back in the day. Carefully pry the foil cap off the glass bottles and suck the cream off.... pissed mom off, she thought the milkman was a dirtbag.

Years ago when I was a dumb kid working at the golf course we had an old timer who would insist I get a cup of coffee and meet him in the parking lot. He would load my coffee up with Crown Royal and I would add it to my coffee until I quit drinking. At the end though it was more adding a touch of coffee to a mug of Crown Royal.

Ruining a good cup of coffee with such stuff is far worse than smoking the most aromatic of aromatics My philosophy is smoke what you like, drink what you like, etc. Different strokes. Me too But I just can't stand someone putting A-1 on a good steak

OMG!!! I not only fill my coffee with sugar and Coffee Mate, but I love A-1 on a steak. This thread has convinced me that I am a depraved reprobate. I think I will fill a pipe with Captain Black grape, sit on the back deck, and pout.....

I drink it black, wife doctors hers up so much it really ain’t coffee. We grew up with a drip, pot, coffee Creme rising 2 to 3 inches high while slowly pouring hot water on grounds. Little dematassie cups half full , so thick spoon would stand up in it. Chugging it down your eyes spun round like a slot machine paying out buckets full, caffeine jolt made you super charged in the fields all day.

First started with milk and sugar on day old coffee, but prefer drip or press pot coffee black when fresh and good.
Now I start with two cappuccino each morning, and the milk is whole, about an ounce worth, steamed into a froth that looks like wet paint. The steaming changes the structure of the milk, makes it sweeter, so no sugar. Afternoons, espresso or macchiato.

Hot, strong and black. When I feel the need to add anything to my coffee it is bourbon or rum.
