My son saw this on Facebook...Due to the rise in the price of Ammo there will not be a warning shot..Thanks for your understanding. That’s funny. But in reality if it’s time for a “warning shot” it’s time to put the bullet where it needs to be put. Warning shots are contra-indicated,

Just got word that the smith has finished the BFR. Now to get it home, and some pretty days to start sighting it in. 😁

Years ago, the early 1970s, I worked under a retired SFPD motorcycle cop. A big Irishman with a handlebar mustache and twinkling bright eyes, a lovely man. He was my shift supervisor. His favorite was "STOP or I'll kill you!" On the job, he packed a Colt Python with a six inch barrel and knew how. He said that call usually worked. Of course that was the 1960s and 1950s, a more gentle age.

Bit off topic, but my brother-in-law bought me a Red Ryder for Christmas once. I thought it was odd - what would I do with a kid's BB gun? Turned out, I could stick one inch orange target stickers on a stout cardboard box computers shipped in, and I had an indoor range. I was suprised to find out how accurate it was; you could absolutely hit the center of the sticker at room ranges, and the BB ended up in the box, so there was no cleanup. Way more fun than I thought it would be. Back to revolvers

The last revolver I bought was a few years ago 1948 Smith K-22 Masterpiece. If any of you own a K-22 Masterpiece you know they are the best shooting 22 revolver. Later they model numbered them the model 17

Later they model numbered them the model 17 Congrats on owning one of the finest revolvers ever made. I, too, have a K22.Plus an M18 (the four inch Combat Masterpiece, also in 22LR). Wonderful revolvers and a cut above anything "modern" out there.

I also have m18 combat masterpiece. And a set of 3 17-6 full under lug finger grove grips 4in 6in 8and3/8. But the older 5 screws are way smother plus a 1952 k22 masterpiece. I got a soft spot for older guns. I started an addoption program for unloved and unwanted guns. My favorite 357mag is a pre27 6.5 inch target front sight. Funny I borrowed $500 to buy my first house from my brother paid him back. Years later borrowed $1500 for the 3 17-6s of course paid him back.

One of my shooting instructors had a 222 mag. It was a one hole gun all day. Remington 700 from the 60s.

I think Remington went bankrupt. Was Americas oldest gun maker.

I think Remington went bankrupt. Was Americas oldest gun maker. Yep, they did go bankrupt and sold off all the divisions. Ruger bought Marlin, and we're hoping for great things. Pretty sad overall though. The 1858 Remington was the best revolver I ever shot. The 700 was the first choice of target shooters for decades. My daily carry is a Remington R51. PSA bought H&R and we're hoping for new production. Vista Outdoors bought the ammo division so we should still be able to get our favorite ammo. Nothing like the 170 gr 30-30 for my Winchester 94.

Yes. He was crusty, but a nice man. I liked him. He shaded us both with his hat! (And never removed his cigar!)

Talking about books PO Ackley 1 an 2 sitting on the shelf with a Smith and Wesson autographed Roy Jinks. And a few others. Dont have anything by Kieth. Huntingtons up the road who sold RCBS back in the 70s I think. They have all the old guys pictures in the back. They ordered thier reloading dies from them back in the day. I think the last gun I got from them was Remington 725 in .280 with old weaver 4x

I recognize several of y'all here, and I have enjoyed the forum. It's good to be here. This is my 1st Gen SAA, .357. King Cockeyed Hammer, wide trigger, adj sights, short action, all by King Gun Sights, San Francisco, Calif. I don't think it's my favorite revolver (close), but it is my most interesting piece.

It’s not my pistola, but I’d say 7.5”. A standard “cavalry” length for the Model P.
