I used to call paper work on a new to me gun adoption papers. Glad you like your new piece. The receiving FFL did not even bother to call in the sale. I just filled out the new application, he handed me the box. I paid him and left. Hope there is no problem with NICS!!! No need to call in if you already have a CCW, at least it works that way in Arizona. If you donβt have a CCW in NM, depending on what info he has it may have been approved before you picked it up. Depending on what you gave the shipper, if the FFL had enough info, all he had to do was check your ID when you got there.

I just hand over the CCL before he asks. If he was supposed to call it in and didn't, it's on him.

Watching the news. The Shreveport murder rate per capita is 50% higher than Chicago. They are trying everything to bring it down, but no luck.

I have no ties to S'port any more, though hatched there. All family there died off in the 60s. One owned a rowdy domino parlor and wore huge Stetsons. Another had a nightclub/roadhouse out on Cross Lake. He "went away on business" in the 20s. Five years I think it was in Atlanta for bootlegging. But he was my favorite uncle (a great uncle really) and a really good guy. It's been a long time since I was even in Sin City.

He was in prison at 19, served in the Merchant Marine, raced cars on Daytona Beach, boxed, wwrestled professionally, owned a nightclub and whorehouse in Port Arthur, was an enforcer for the Teamsters and more. He was my best friend and a great guy.

I wish everyone had a few black sheep in their families. (Most do!) They are sometimes the best people. Mine certainly enriched my life, and never did me a bit of harm. My domino-uncle was great fun. A WW1 vet who had knocked around in South America. Oh, the stories! Over my mother's strenuous objections he brought me my first horse. Just showed up with it. A famously oft-told family tale: "The boy is four. He needs a horse!" She was angry. "WHAT am I supposed to do with it?" "Put it on the parlor piano!" And he rode off.

Since we are reminiscing about old uncles, I am reminded of when Queen Elizabeth II inspected the Irish Guards, on duty at Buckingham Palace. Her Majesty stopped to chat with one young Guardsman and remarked, "You know, I have a nephew in the Irish Guards." To which the bright young man replied, "It is a small world and no error, Your Majesty, I have an uncle who is a Queen!"

^^^ I wonder what became of that young Leftenant whose Platoon the Queen is inspecting??
And notice the old Colonel behind them with mouth agape that the younger officer will do or say something stupid.

I remember the day when my dad was made an honorary member of the Queen's Royal Artillery, with quite a ceremony that I really swelled me up with pride for my dad. He was very, very good on the Howitzer, very accurate on round placement, so it was his job to train the Brits.
The British really know how to put on a ceremony. The Scottish "Commando", maybe not so much. i.pinimg.com/originals/d6/ad/05/d6ad056011d6c7429562d05d787327bd.jpg

Brought home a nice K22 yesterday. The price was right and I could not resist. Left the factory in 1957.

Don't reply if you'd rather not, but would you mind telling us about what you had to pay for that beauty? (I have one from about that same period, along with a M-18 I bought with it. Wonderful gats.) Congrats!

Looks like you can snag one for $700 to $1200, depending on condition and YOM. Some go much higher.
