Bob, really appreciate all the additional information you've provided. I could not for the life of me find any other stamping on the pistol but I'll have to take another look soon. The thing about the M14 vs M15 trigger was from a photo of both from a former officer's blog about the guns. The only difference was the picture of the M14 showed the different sight notch and the M14 showed a much fatter hammer spur, identical to what I've got. All the pictures of the M15s I can find have a different, more narrow hammer spur than this one I have. I can imagine as you say, they have interchangeable sizes and I also saw how some law agencies would take the spurs off altogether for liability purposes, not wanting officers to prime the hammer but instead fire only double-action.
I understand what you mean now by "target" trigger. This one is a real joy to simply actuate with a solid thumb movement. Thanks again. I won't ever part with the gun, that's for sure.

I think the M14, AKA “K38”, antedates the M15. Correct me if I’m wrong. I could not say. I purchased the revolver for Anthony in 1994.

Here’s the dinkum…
S&W went from names to numbers in 1957.
The K-38 (1946-1957) became the M-14 ((1957-1967 with some later “rebirths”)
The Combat Masterpiece (1949-1957) became the M-15 (1957-1999)
IMO S&W went downhill big-time starting in the 90s. The lock, MIM parts, and lousy, sloppy QC were nails in the coffin. Pre-lock, classic K-frames will continue to appreciate. Guns that could be had for under $400 in 1985 are now bringing near $2k. They’re better than gov’t bonds. Plus, they are beautiful works of mechanical art and a tribute to the know-how and craftsmanship we USED to have.
I have a gun trust. When I go over over the river to picnic under the trees all my guns go to a deserving gun lover who will cherish them.

Some say they went to sleep in the 1980s or even the 1970s. Prices today for the older better quality arms seem ridiculous to me.

They’re not ridiculous. Find something today that matches them. Not the 70s. No way.

All my neices and nephews who like guns already have more than they can use. Same for my friends. All I can think of is to start selling them soon. The Social Security calculator says that I can expect to live another 14 years. I don't think that would be a good thing if my health doesn't get better.

I see that Alex Baldwin and the movies armorer have both been charged with involuntary manslaughter. This seems appropriate. He has long been disrespectful of gun owners who manage to not kill anyone.

This is karma at work. Those who hate guns but who make their living using them on screen live dangerous karmic lives. His pathetic lie that he didn’t pull the trigger is coming back to haunt him.

I'm a 1911 guy and can't hit the side of a barn with this thing. But I love to take her out and shoot her on occasion. Ruger Vaquero/stainless/45 Colt

I also can't hit anything with my regular gripped Blackhawk, but I'm very accurate with a 1911. I can also shoot well with any double action revolver I've tried. Love the round grip.

I couldn't agree more, I expect him to come out being a proponent of increased gun legislation so he can absolve him self of his stupid neglect. That should give him high marks in The California judicial system. Kind of the way it works there.

But sometimes New Mexico likes to express their independence. This looks like one of those. They are taking it seriously. Unless the DA gets pressured to drop it from the New Mexico Film industry, he's probably going to do a year or more. The armorer should be shot for allowing live ammo on the set. Idiots!

I hope you are right...I picked up haz waste from Harbor fright in ABQ and talked to an off duty officer that was providing security, and he told me that the reason he was there was because the local DA gave killers light sentences. I realize that it is different counties, but it would not surprise me if he gets community service...he is a special folk!

What possible community service could Baldwin provide save for hosting a lamppost party for himself?

I just can't imagine why they'd ever, ever have live rounds on a modern movie set. On top of that, I can't imagine why they're even using a fully working gun. For all intents and purposes, should they not be blank prop guns that look identical? My wife's grandfather had a bunch of .22 blank revolvers for training gun dogs and those are really old and solid barrels. You'd think they could custom make movie guns to fire blanks with only what looks like a normal barrel. The whole ordeal seems more like it was staged or someone was setup for it to have reached that point.

Astonishing to me the number of people who believe he has no responsibility for anything which happened. Mostly Hollywood people who live in a fantasy world. Unfortunately the cinematographer won't reset.

Really considering getting one of these Ruger LCRs in .327 Federal Magnum. Anyone familiar with, like or dislike, this round? From what I've read it sounds like a great choice for carry.

It's a great cartridge, but it has a huge muzzle blast in a snubby. But you can shoot all the other 32 cartridges so I would go for it.

I know practically nothing about the 32s, not owning any of them. I tend to think of them as outdoorsmen’s cartridges rather than for self-defense where I would tend to favor more sectional density for impact and penetration. But if somebody gave me one I don’t think I would sneer at it.

I have the Model 5410, which is 22 LR, I like it, It performs just like my Cobs with codger blends.

I think the flexibility Ron mentioned is the biggest selling point. Those .327 Mag cartridges are hard to find, and expensive when you can find them. That was the case when I was looking at one about 6 months ago, anyway.
