If it ain't broke why fix it?

If it ain't broke why fix it? Agreed. I know some people obsess about it. To the point of numbering chambers and shooting chamber specific groups. I don’t want to work that hard. I know shooters that weigh individual 22LR cartridges and shoot them together to minimize group size. Again, too much work for me. A buddy of mine is constantly fiddling with powders and handgun loads. When I find a good one, I tend to stick with it unless bullet or powder availability becomes a factor. This GP is such a comfortable, natural pointer, with a great trigger, it is hard to be bad with it. It’s one I will never part with. I have yet to really do extensive testing with the 3” 10mm GP100 I also have. Hoping it is just as accurate. The trigger feels about the same. The front sight is the same, but the rear is a fixed Novak combat style sight.

I measured the mouths of the chambers on my GP100. They come in at .4285 I’ll check the Uberti SAA tomorrow. My GP is very, very accurate. That's pretty tight. Have you slugged your bore? Are you shooting lead?

I shoot lead only. No leading to speak of. I don’t care enough to expend the energy to slug the bore. It is accurate and trouble free.

FFL called. My RM 64 is ready to pick up tomorrow. Taking a couple of boxes of ammo in case he wants to shoot it on his 430 acres. If you change your mind I have some really soft bullets somewhere and I could send you a couple. I wouldn't try it with a hard cast Keith.

I probably won’t. It shoots great as is. No problems with this one.

I finally got to pick up my new 357 yesterday. It's almost exactly the same as my 38 Special. The 38 has a vent rib and the 357 doesn't. Sorry for the fingerprints. They are Rossi revolvers, stamped Made in Brazil by Taurus.

Send them both to Arizona for an unbiased review… the Lend/ lease program works out well, tobacco for lease payments.😉

I have an original edition of McGivern’s book “Fast and Fancy Revolver Shooting”, given to me by my mentor many years ago. He was a pioneer, of course. But in no way could he compare to Jerry Miculek. He was also probably the worst writer that has ever butchered the English sentence and bored his reader unto tears.

The armorer on Alec Baldwin's Movie, Rust, has been found guilty of manslaughter. She didn't do her job. She could have shut down the production. I know she was young and in over her head. This doesn't let Baldwin off the hook at all.

There have been trick shots since there have been guns. I still thought he was fun to watch. We have a couple from a while back here in Texas, The Fabulous Topperweins, Husband and wife trick shots. Very popular in their day. Everyone hopes to find one of their bullet-punched-in-tin portraits. They say it only took 15-20 seconds. On his heafsto6, he reminds us to keep our powder dry.

My grandfather and Topperwein were friends. Grandad had an Indian chief head with his initials on it on his mantle. It disappeared after his death.

Good guns that are worth keeping. Shoot that sucker. First just to test, and second for the relaxing act of just concentrating on the simple act of shooting.

Snake season will soon be upon us here. I have made great progress in controlling the rattler population but there is still a ways to go yet. My main tool in this fight is my old Ruger Blackhawk in 45 Colt. I have developed a way to use the shot capsules without a bottom plug and a card overpowder wad to bring the 45 shotshells up to 410 level. It’s a great tool for this job. Very handy in an El Paso Saddlery shoulder rig. Time to get it ready.

Don't have any rattlers so far, (knocking on wood), but I was thinking about getting this for whatever comes along.

A 500 Magnum in a J-frame is a marketing stunt that S&W will regret. It can’t even handle a .357. K-frames can’t handle a steady diet of 357s. I predict this gun will be off the market in less than a year.

It certainly ought to be a joke. I took it seriously because of all the other silly stuff that’s going on in the gun industry. What’s the source, Ron?

It's not a letter frame, according to S&W it's an extra large frame. I don't know who would buy one. In a J frame, with the required cylinder, it would probably be about 30 ounces, unloaded. Might as well be a single shot. The source of the 58 ounces is S&W direct
