I'm not in the market, but thanks for the warning. I shot a J-frame with one long time ago and I didn't like it. Not sure of the purpose although it was explained to me at the time. Guy also Fitz Special that didn't impress me either. It helps fill the hand better for guys with gorilla hands like me. Makes the smaller grip-framed guns a lot more comfortable for me. Do you have one? I just buy larger grips.

Just saw that Colt/CZ has finally brought back the Python in Royal Blue. Darn pretty gun.

Big benefit from the T-grips is they eliminate the back of the trigger guard bagging into your middle finger.

I don't think my little 44 Magnum bashes my knuckles, but after shooting a cylinder full, I'm too much in shock to notice. I think my Blackhawk does with the factory grips.

I’m a big fan of Magna S&W grips with the T-grip. They feel best in my hand.

The gun in the photo is one of S&W’s “mistakes.” It is a very early (no dash) M67. It was ALL stainless, including the front and rear sights. Lousy sight picture but great for the tropics. I changed mine out with a set of standard black rears and I blacken the front, or paint it day-glo. Problem solved. A very sweet-shooting, smooth, accurate 38. One of my favorites.

Those "mistakes" of Smith and Wesson back in the 50s were still something I like. I hear you about the sights. I can't believe that S&W didn't have one of their advisors shoot it first. I'm sure Elmer would have told them about it.

Snap up any decent condition pre-lock K frames under $500 that you can find. They are appreciating like mad.

I do not know if the can be found for that price in these parts. I agree they should go to good homes for adoption.

About to re-acquire my 14-4 from a good friend. I’ve missed it. I bought one of those for my stepson years ago. It was his first handgun. He went to become quite a collector and shooter.

My 14 is a valued possession. They are works of art, as are all of the early k-frames. 17s and 18s and 14s and 15s make great pairs.

Shot a cylinder full in 617 four inch barrel while working on fence at friends ranch. I am going to have to put a few bricks through it. Thinking about an action job and upgrading the sights. Perfect balance with full under lug.

Don— I really dislike the factory Target grips. They feel awkward to me. So I take a little off the bottom. Hard to believe the difference that makes.

Now you guys have me hankering for a Model 14. Darn it! They cost a grand or more on Gunbroker although there was one offered for $750 or so.

You remember that I got that 357 that I just had to have. I haven't shot a gun since I got it. In fact, I haven't shot anything at all except to kill a rat in a couple of years. I need to get busy. Thing is, if I start shooting a lot, I might draw attention, even though my nearest neighbors are a half mile away. Nobody notices the occasional mag dump, but continueous shooting would be different.

Are they decent neighbors? I wouldn’t let that deter me. My neighbors are 1.5 and 1 mile away, on each side. Most of the time they can’t hear me shooting. But if they did they wouldn’t care. They shoot, too. Letting neighbors deter you is almost like acquiescing to an invisible HOA..

Worst thing is that when I get a target out, before I get to put it up, I see a dozen things I need to do.

What is it you’re “taking a chance” on? On pissing off the neighbors, whoever they are. Most likely they would think it's the ex-con that owns the property that surround mine. He does regular mag dumps. Slow, steady shooting would be abnormal.

Strong fences make good neighbors, or something like that. We've got barbed wire on rotten posts for the most part. I have put in heavy wire on steel pipe frames around a third of the property, and wire on t-posts across the back. I need about 600 more feet for where the fence is falling down.

Certainly an advertisement in a more sane time. Ilinois, Ca., NY, NJ, Wa., would see this as an opportunity to put a woman in prison.

I also have not shot anything since dispatching a rattlesnake at the back door. I could have used a shovel but wanted to shoot my Colt Commando. I have one of those steel plate targets that flips when struck. I need to set that up in the yard with the wood pile as a backstop. It will bother the dog but she will get over it. I have spent much time dry firing with snap caps and have the DA trigger down well enough.

Bizarre ad. They're in some sort of public, cafeteria setting. The guy appears to be doing nothing besides maybe trying too hard. "Find him annoying? Shoot him!" They needed some very different artwork for that ad.
