Ted's makes some nice blends. My favorite is #300 Founder's Blend. I bought my first pipe there while on recruiting duty with the Navy. Beth Kanaley was such a nice woman and taught me how to smoke a pipe. I order from them still. I was in the Navy too but I'd never call myself a veteran... I busted my hips because I was a weak and pathetic sailor and spent the next 2 1/2 years in administration. Paper pusher. Lots of surgery and agony but realy when I think about it none of that was even the Navy's fault, I just wasn't cut out for the job. shite I got a rotator cuff injury in the Navy just doing pushups. I was never a very physically fit person and I signed up for a "mans job". I took a tumble down a flight of stairs after one of the hip jobs and that did my neck in.. So I've got a spinal cord injury. So technically I am a "very disabled" veteran, but really, I just like to call myself "disabled", because I NEVER ONCE contributed to any war effort... And I am totally against war now that I am out so, yeah, lousy sailor, lousy military service member, lousy "veteran". I keep the term "veteran" for those who actually did something for the military, as I did absolutely nothing. And i salute those men and women for their bravery and courage.

I will be spending company with an absolutely LOVELY lady of my choosing for New Years.... Yes, a new woman has entered my life. We've decided marriage isnt for us. But we sure love each other a lot. We're really taking care of each other.... This one is different; I know you probably hear this a lot, but its true. I'll just say that her name is Maria and I am very happy. Nightcap in the Rossi Vittoria Author. Glad you have finally found some wonderful company that you enjoy and doesn't take advantage of you....someone you can give love to and get love from...almost as good as a dog, but we humans are a fickle bunch, unlike dogs our " selves" get too involved in a relationship. Enjoy Maria's company and make sure you give back all you receive. Butternut burley in my Rhodesian....a morning delight! We had a conversation and our relationship is going to be split straight down the line, 50/50. You give some, I give some We do things for EACH OTHER, on an even scale. The minute it gets tipped, we start talking about it. We've both been put through the ringer as far as relationships are concerned... I am just blessed to have her. This one, finally, I think is a keeper.

I have since occasionally ordered #300 or British Imperial. I like the cube cut Burley that they use in their blends.

I don't think I've been here much ,or perhaps not at all since dec. 1...life get busy this time of year...on my end ,pipes were smoked as usual ,but when I got here this morning I found that we are a member short...life goes on, but any such loss is a sad event , and more so at this time of year; and yet, we push on... The pipe of the moment is a three star Pipes By Lee, filled from the spill tray ,with yesterdays mixture of McCelland's 605 and Amphora's Burley Blend rubbed in to offset the sweetness. Many of the aros I found tasty in the summer just don't work too well in the cooler months.

Also, consider giving 1-11 a try. Its 300 with a little change.
