Albertson's has the IQF jumbo shrimp shelled and deveined for $7.99 for 2 pounds...we bought 6 bags, eating two of them today with family. Homemade horseradish cocktail sauce, super easy to make and far cheaper, fresher than the bottled stuff.
Tip: If you buy shrimp, best to buy the IQF....(Individually quick frozen) easier to portion out and always is better quality than ones in block Ice.
The shrimp at the seafood counter was originally frozen, but partially thawed and you never know how long that it has been sitting there, it always looks better in the display case, but pass it by unless the counterperson is your best bud...you never know how long it has been sitting there. That stuff sitting in the display case is not fresh, regardless of what George Strait says about oceanfront property in Arizona.

Just ate for the first time today. Made stuffed shells for my boy and I had a smoked turkey sandwich with Dijon mustard and smoked Gouda on a whole wheat ciabatta roll

If fish stinks at all run the other way I prefer fresh off the boat or frozen. So many times you go to the local chain grocery store and you can smell it before you get to it. That being said I have leftover rib eye and left over chicken fingers so we can make something for dinner. Today is more of a snacking kind of day be it healthy or unhealthy we got the bases covered.

Broccoli and cheese stuffed chicken breast. Steamed vegetables on the side. The question is. Should I wrap the chicken in bacon or should I bread the chicken?🤔. Suggestions anyone!?🙂.

That sounds really good John! Guess you’ll need those extra calories before cleaning your stove. Cheers brother.😁👍

That sounds really good John! Guess you’ll need those extra calories before cleaning your stove. Cheers brother.😁👍 True enough. After shoveling out the ashes and hauling the bucket to the ash heap, hot coals started some weeds smoldering. Normally, this time of year there is a layer of snow on the ground so I can easily extinguish the smoldering. No snow this year. Running back and forth with dirt in a bucket. Lunch consisted of two bowls of my lentil, vegetable soup with squash added and some extra turkey stock from the old carcass. Cooked 24 hours at a low boil, so any food related pathogens are probably not in an active form.

next...snoozie (from WAYS post). After not too long, Zweigle's red dawg, skin on, 12mins @300f on GeoForeman grill. Usual Musselmans' smooth applesauce as side. Later during Jeopardy, store brand tea & cookies. Eating fish & chicken 6 days a week, to enjoy something not close to being healthy!

As Charlie said IQF is the way to go, take it from a shrimper, when I was a shrimper we iced them down hard, nowadays they use chemicals to preserve them also ice down, not good, IQF way to go. Cold today, taking it easy on wife today, my no cook favorite is hormel tamales with Wolfs chili on top. I know it’s not the best but it’ll make a 💩 as my old man would say.

Had some leftover Italian sausage and sauteed spinach from pizza night, so I threw that with some mozzarella cheese into an omelet. Washed that down with a Sam Winter Lager.

Brought home four pounds of Mayacoba Peruvian beans. AKA Canary Beans owing to their sulfur yellow color. They are considered by thems which knows, Latin American Chefs, to be the most flavorful of beans with a creamy texture. Digestible!!!
Maybe their farts smell of roses? I do not know but will soon find out. They were on deep sale. I could not resist.

The last piece oi homemade bread with butter after the ambulance next door woke me up. I don't have any Mayacoba Peruvian beans they probably would have been tasty with the bread.
