Talk about a conversation piece. Reminds me of sunsets in Arizona or a John Ford / John Wayne movie like The Searchers. The blue reminds me of the end scene where Wayne and Jeffrey Hunter are near the river fighting Scarface over Natalie Wood.
I never thought of trying a pipe like that until now. Enjoy it!

Won 4 estate pipes on Ebay today. I need an intervention!
Three old Jobey's and a Tim West. I'll post pictures when they come in.
They all look like they'll clean up real nice.

I haven't bought a pipe in 20 years..Still got more than I need..Papa told me when I was young that I had to separate my needs from my wants..These days I just buy tobacco..

I cant order pipe tobacco here in Washington, and local b&m prices are artificially jacked up by the states taxes to the point I cant justify it. Amost 7.00 for 1oz of Lane 1Q. Any tin you might mention on here starts at 27.00. This has greatly acceleratrd my intrest in cigars. I have about 40 good ones on hand in hunidors so far, and am slowly building that.
I find I am smoking less, but enjoying just as much. For one thing, a cigar usually lasts 1 1/2 hours +/-., and I dont smoke them when active. And Im busy these days.
Yes, its still cheaper to pay the inflated pipe tobacco prices, but I dont like being played by politicians. So everytime I buy a bundle of 25 cigars on line that usually runs $10.00-$14.00 each for less than 3.00 each, I get a perverse satisfaction out of it.
I love my pipes. I only have 9, but each one has a story, and is special to me. And when my son-in-law comes up from Idaho to visit, he'll take care of me on tobacco. He got my recipe for Old Dad and made a 45oz batch of it.
But mail anymore is pretty much strictly cigars at this point. And Im loving it. š

There is a marked difference in the tin I just jarred last month and the one that's 2 years old. I also have a 2019 jar that I haven't opened yet. |
