Earlier in the week Dave announced his retirement.
I want to wish you and your wife a happy & healthy retirement. Time to enjoy life.
Your stems will be surely missed, within a week or two they will show up on eBay for over $60.00!
Yep, there will be a few schmucks that would buy them
Dave told me his entire stock sold out in less than 4 hours after he made his decision public.

Yep, there will be a few schmucks that would buy them Dave told me his entire stock sold out in less than 4 hours after he made his decision public. Walker took them over when Old Log Cabin stopped producing them. Someone will likely take up the mantle.👍 |

It wouldn't surprise me if Mike Myers took over making the stems, him and Dave have a close friendship. I once sent some pipes to be restored to Dave and he called me up to tell me that he was going to drive them over to Mike's house.
But then again, Mike may not want to deal with it...he has lulls in his business at times and it may give him more work, but he is generally pretty busy.

I wonder if Aristocob would take it on? Does Scott not just sell pipes? I've never seen or heard of him making anything (apart from perhaps some cobfoolery). Never heard him making stems. You never know, AFAIK he does have a workshop with the required equipment, so he must know how to use it. |
