There is another forum I attend. It has 36,404 members, of which 4,281 are active. There are typically 800 to 1000 users on at any given time. (Surprisingly, while it is not a pipe smoking forum, it is an only slightly less arcane subject from the perspective of popular culture.)
Just about every thread on that site is worse than our WAYS thread - near impossible to keep up with. You post a comment, and by the time you come back, maybe later that evening, there are three pages after you that you haven't read, and your comment has been commented on and argued and resolved and the thread has moved on to other arguments. Its crazy.
Even if the site was appropriately moderated (it isn't), it is so active that one quickly feels irrelevant.
No, I much prefer this li'l tranquil cozy grove corner of the internet, where I can stretch my toes and smoke a pipe.

Forums like this are funny..A person will post like crazy for a while and then just disappear..I checked someone last night who has over 6,000 posts.That person hasn't posted in 6 months now.
