Untaxed liquor at the moment, moving onto Wild Turkey 101 for the next pour.

this in the glass EMP in this... As a new Scotch drinker, I've only tried a couple. The easily accessible kind. I have some 12 year Glenlivet. How does the above compare? The 10 year is readily available here, along with 12 year Glenfiddich. Haven't really drank a lot of liquor in my time, mostly beer and wine.

I have both Glenilvet and Glenfiddich on the shelf. They are both great Single Malt Scotches for the money. That being said, I find the 18 YO Glenmorangie to be smoother.

For some delicious scotch on a budget, try Monkey Shoulder. It's really good stuff. I've had my share of Famous Grouse, too, but the Monkey is much better, IMHO.
For more $$ I reach for either Lagavulin or Laphroaig ... that Glenmorangie is really good too.

On my third tumbler of Wild Turkey 101 with a splash of water.
Temperature plummeting but my spirits rising. That is as it should be!

An evening of new things.
Due to the influence of my mixocological brother, I am drinking a Empress Gin martini.
INGREDIENTS 2OZ EMPRESS 1908 GIN 1/2OZ LILLET BLANC GRAPEFRUIT TWIST
Lovely. After this a bowl of a new favorite of mine - G.L.Pease Six Pence, in an outlandish new churchwarden.
I am not this elegant or ostentatious a guy usually, but my brother got me the gin for Christmas. Ok yea, I had the Lillet Blanc in my cabinet.

Glenmorangie is the nutz. I was introduced to it in Baile An Fheirteraigh Ireland a long time ago. Before the Euro. A ‘large’ was £5. Worth every penny.

A few drams of this tonight. Good stuff, but I still prefer my Caol Ila.

My son in law bought me a bottle of Creag Isle 25 year Islay Single Malt.
Man, this is smooth.

Made up a pot of cocoa. Everyone here is sipping cocoa and watching the road to the Olympics. What Olympics? The qualifying for a chance to go to the Olympics. Me thinks it was pre recorded. But it's neat to hear the interviews. Hearing about what influences, and why they are so determined.

Buffalo Trace Bourbon Cream. I got some of this during a distillery tour years ago before it was widely distributed. Good stuff.

A cup of green tea for now. Will be the usual milk at lunch. Thinking about a beer with dinner tonight, or maybe a coke classic.
