Earlier this afternoon a friend and I stopped by a local brewery and had a couple craft beers. Not bad. I had one call "Old Man Christmas" that was supposed to have "Christmas spice". Didn't taste it. But it was a good beer just the same.

A cabernet sauvignon - with and after a steak dinner.
Doing the same this evening... minus the steak. Unfortunately.

Trying something new - a Leinenkugel Berry Weiss. "Crisp weiss beer gets a little lift from an enticing blend of blackberries, elderberries and loganberries."
Not bad.

I went thru about a case in Houston and haven't seen it since. Supposed to be available all year round, unlike some of their beers. Picked up a 6 pack of this and a 6 pack of Dos Equis Amber - and a "make your own 6 pack" of craft beers, most of them made here in Illinois.

Therefore, hot Earl Grey in the mug thoughout, including now.

Abita used to make a tasty strawberry beer for summertime. Probably still do, I guess. I wouldn't know.

Now a Leinenkugel Snowdrift Vanilla Porter. Beautiful dark color. Fairly dark brown foam. No discernable vanilla flavor, but didn't really expect one.

Finally finished it. It's quite a bit more full after our trip to the wine store this evening. I'll get a new picture tomorrow.

Nicely done, sir. That thing in the middle doesn't look like wine, though. Will the other bottles not complain?

Very nice work! We could have used that back in our 20s and early 30s, but now neither of us can drink much wine. Well, I can but the wife's diabetes limits her to a couple of sips. We used to have cases under our bed of fine German whites and Austrian reds.
