Johnnie Walker Red. Lynyrd Skynrd playing in the background. I have some Johnny Walker black that I haven't tried yet. Hear it's supposed to be pretty good

Hear it's supposed to be pretty good Better than the red, but I got half a case of red for free. JW Blue I had on the company credit card.... that is really smooth, especially when someone else foots the bill. But if I was paying the freight, the black hits the sweet spot on price point/ value.

A wet, rainy, dreary day. I solace myself with a Clear Creek Toddy: 1/2 of that sweet Ogallala Aquifer water, 1/2 Canadian (any will do), a dash of bitters, some non-sugar sweetener. Stir. Drink. Forget the rain.

Something my son brought home. "Whiskey finished in rum, port & Dunn Vineyards Cabernet barrels". 124 proof. From Louisville. Not bad.

Sounds interesting. It's a bourbon, then? The term "bourbon" appears nowhere on the label. Says its distilled in Indiana and Tennessee. Company HQ in Louisville.

Writer's Tears Double Oak. Not familiar with this one. An Irish whiskey. I need to drink more of it so I don't go through my Redbreast so quickly.

Had a bottle in my hand at the store a few days ago, wound up setting it back down out of uncertainty, guess I'll have to go back and see if it's still there. You guys definitely steered me in the right direction with the Elijah Craig.
