Four Roses Single Barrel tonight. I really liked that one, just hard for me to justify the cost on a regular basis

Guava Nectar.
Very refreshing when chilled. With a little added seltzer for fizzzzzz.
Then a large measure of Bushmills.

Fosters Lager, hey it works for me! A most agreeable hot weather lager. Summer in NYC is bad enough. It is hot, damn hot. Humid and stinky. The whole city smells like a urinal. I would leave my office on Park Avenue and walk the blocks east to Third Avenue and Eammon Doren's Pub. Thence the coldest Fosters in the city of New York. Interesting mix of suits and working clothes would fill the place. All serious about drinking. After a couple of pints of ice cold Fosters, body core temperatures return to normal. Then one can move on to cellar temperature Guinness Stout. Or, having a fill of fizz, turn to a glass of barley malt, either Irish or Scottish. After a couple of hours, move into the dining room in back for a steak, a burgers, fish, etc. The dining room staff all Irish gals new to the City. Thence, back to the bar for a post meal libation. Exiting the establishment with careful steps around 10:00PM, the city has cooled to a mere 86 degrees and smells a little better. Life seems good now. Take the subway or cab uptown to home and bed.

A legal plea in an Irish court is "Drink was taken." You guys need to remember that.

Tonight will likely be Wild Turkey 101, or Black Bush. Or possibly both.

Tonight will likely be Wild Turkey 101, or Black Bush. Or possibly both. Mixing bourbon-esque and Irish— even Northern Irish— can lead to spiritous schizophrenia. Proceed with caution!

Opened the last bottle of a Merlot I made 10/31/2017. This was the first homemade wine I had made in many years. (I've made 27 batches since this one.) It wasn't a high end wine kit and didn't produce a good wine, but after aging, it started tasting fairly good at the 3 year mark. Tonight it was 50.3 months old and tasting pretty good.

This evening, Ranch Water: a reasonable pour of Tito’s Vodka, ice, juice of 1 lime, Topo Chico Sparkling Mineral Water, salt to taste. A refreshing libation that is difficult to screw up.

A legal plea in an Irish court is "Drink was taken." You guys need to remember that. The Guarda in Dublin was very adroit in removing drunk patrons of restaurants, passed out, with minimal disturbance. They brought in an oak straight back chair with straps on the arms and legs. Placed the inebriate in chair, strapped him in, hoisted the chair and carried him out without so much as a flap of nearby table cloth. Very impressive.

Last night, had my first taste of Jefferson's Ocean. Always thought this was a bit pricey and more than a bit gimmicky. Found a place that sold pints for $40. Thought it was a gamble. This stuff is incredibly good. Huge mouthfeel, huge flavor. Guess I have to get a full bottle at $90-100. I'll be a retirement gift to myself.

I remember seeing it somewhere, but didn't pay it much attention. Guess I'll have to look into it.

Great summertime drink. Supposed to be in the mid/upper 80s here beginning Thursday. Just sayin' Hovering here at about 100, not hot for PHX, but it still goes down good. I like the old classics.
