The snow finally stopped. The day was warm enough we lost much accumulation. I can only hope it piled up in the higher elevations of the watershed.
Trees covered in snow. Fruit trees in blossom covered in snow.
Looks like January outside.

Really sorry to hear that, John. For $39 you could try the Chefman 2-qt at Amazon. I like mine more and more. For b’fast this morning I made turnip cubes. After thoroughly researching the products offered, considering the portion sizes of my diet, and reflection upon what I want to cook in this widget, I concluded that YOUR model is an excellent choice. So, I ordered one from Amazon. Let us hope they can get it here. Two chicken thighs or one moderately sized chicken breast is about right for me now. Small portion of Tater Tots or Fries. The occasional battered frozen fish filets or Fish Sticks which I still love being raised up by them. Steaks, chops, will still go into the iron pan. I guess a small bread could be baked in one of these. We shall see.

Good decision, I think, John. Unless we do a lot of entertaining I doubt guys like us need one of the big ones. I don't know about bread, but I bet it could be done. I've got some Alaskan shrimp a friend gave me, frozen now, that I'm going to try in the next coupla days. I agree that you can't do everything with a single cooking method. Let us know when it arrives and tell us how you like it. Good luck! (Lots of tips and recipes in the 'net. The lit that comes with it is pretty slim.)

Sorry to hear that Scott; condolences to all. The older we get, the more frequent these losses it seems. The circle of life and all that. Thank you. Unfortunately, he was just 34. That is doubly sad to lose someone at a young age.

We picked up a midsize Air Fryer at Costco while visiting our Daughter; she has a large one but we don't need that much capacity. They use theirs pretty much every day. I really like the speed and convenience for roasting vegetables, fries, etc. Easy clean up as well. In fact, I'm leaving for the store right now to buy some frozen fries.

Our air fryer is from Kalorik, 2 or 3 quart size, and we use it all the time. If it eventually fails I'd buy another in a heart beat.

My grandmother's oven, from which all good things came, was a Caloric. It had an old-school analog timer on it. I spent a lot of time standing in front of it, staring at that timer. Partly out of fascination, partly to encourage it to hurry up and wind down so I could have pie!

The watched clock of childhood. Math class: "Hurry up!" Summer evening: "Slow down!"

Extreme high wind today. Not gonna get much of anything done outside. Will be loading more stuff in the trailer getting ready for the move. I do have someone coming this afternoon to look at and buy my last horse, I was gonna keep her but I priced her at 5X what I paid, so I’m not gonna be foolish and turn that down.

It is nice to read that people are paying good prices for horses. Here, you cannot give them away. Too many people are turning them loose to join the old wild horse herd. Much of the adjoining area of Costilla County Colorado is open range. In a way it is good for the herd as it ads some fresh genes to their pool. On the other hand, the carrying capacity of this dry high arid plain is limited for feed and water.

Yeah, I understand that. However, The big difference is that my horses are trained properly and safe, there is always a market for dependable kid horses and horses that are “husband safe”. There is no market anywhere for “yard art”. I actually don’t sell the horse, I sell my training.

"Woody", my neighbor's Labrador Retriever came over to visit. First thing, once in the house, is he licks the various cat bowls of their pate remnants. Then he checks the kitchen trash pail for anything interesting. Finally, he cleans up Izzy's feed bowl. Once outside again, Woody and Izzy run around chasing each other at top speed. Occasionally, they crash into me and over I go. It is wonderful to see how happy the two of them are together and they have so much area to run around in. Both need the exercise and activity. Here the two are in static mode.

Just took the pooch for her second walk of the day...can't let her run loose as we have hawks and owls big as me. Owls are a real menace. If I had a small dog I would accompany him/her even in the dog yard against the house. I’m sure it was either an owl (GHO) or a coyote that took Cat. We have no shortage of raptors, so the prohibition ($15,000 fine) against protecting your buddies is out of line. That law is way out of date. Keep your baby safe!
