"Woody", my neighbor's Labrador Retriever came over to visit. First thing, once in the house, is he licks the various cat bowls of their pate remnants. Then he checks the kitchen trash pail for anything interesting. Finally, he cleans up Izzy's feed bowl. Once outside again, Woody and Izzy run around chasing each other at top speed. Occasionally, they crash into me and over I go. It is wonderful to see how happy the two of them are together and they have so much area to run around in. Both need the exercise and activity. Here the two are in static mode. My first thought when I saw your first sentence was, "Did he bring your keys back?" But then I remembered you found them, already. Sounds like a fun show! Get a circus tent and take it on the road.

Nice looking pups...you learn a lot about dogs watching two or three at play. Izzy is dominate, older by 18 months. She chews on Woody like a rag doll. He is patient with her and never snaps back although he is stronger and heavier. He could chew her up in a flash. Woody nodes not have a mean bones in his body. He is the sweetest dog ever. He is hard on live fowl and tends to kill them in his effort to "retrieve" them while still alive. That is some kind of genetic programing he is not responsible for. I am sure he could be trained not to do that.

Hard to train a dog not to "munch" once he has done it. Emma, my GSP bitch, got bitten by a squirrel once and ever after that she didn't give anything a chance to do it again. I had to be on her really fast when she retrieved a pheasant or she would "pre-tenderize" it with vigor. Couldn't break her of it. Crackerjack of a hunter, save for that.

Odd cold day in central Illinois today. Flowers on the trees and snow on the ground. Rainy/snowy off and on all day.

High today 73 with no fing snow wind out of the north. As a young man I spent two winters at the Naval Station Great Lakes so I am set for a lifetime on snow. I was rewarded by the Navy with cold weather training in Norway before they sent me off to play in the big sand box. Yes Uncle Sam has a great sense of humor that's a nice way to put it..

Irrigation water is on so I am starting to fix the leaks. Got the first one fixed but need a new pvc fitting for the next one and I know there is one more homemade riser leaking in the side pasture

Diggin the southwest. I work for a waterworks company, so we supply all of the pipes, hydrants, valves, backflow etc... One of the processes that take place in the greater Phoenix area for developers is water retention. The soil is mostly clay, so if you build on it, there is less room for the water to percolate with storms and the storm drain system can be quickly overwhelmed, not to mention pissed off neighbors. So the fix is that prior to building, putting in underground holding tanks to divert the water to. Sometimes it is humongous perforated pipes in the greenbelt areas of a housing tract. In other instances like this shopping center, daisy chained plastic tunnels with a boatload of gravel. It also helps recharge the aquifer slowly, long after the monsoons have left us. I am guessing that outside of the southwest this isn't so much the practice.

The company I work for is a huge conglomerate out of Australia, but anything related to water, irrigation, plumbing, HVAC, I get at 5% over wholesale. (their buying power is tremendous)
Gate valves and canal linings (if you are irrigating from a canal) are inexpensive when you don't face the markup.

Well we have a lot of ball valves too, I just see more gate valves for our customers use.
(I don't open the cartons that have the ball valves, but we sell a lot of them too)

Last day of packing and loading up. Gotta go get some hay bales for the road, and finish getting everything ready to head out early in the morning. Shweetie and I are so ready to start this next chapter, we tried being normal but it just wasn’t us. How many couples do you know that have been married 30 years and are living in a horse trailer...with a horse? 😆😂 (We have an actual living quarters in the front.

THose combination trailers are popular here with the Hunting Guides/Packers. Our village is the entrance to a desirable unit of the Carson National Forest. So, we see many pull through here. Sometimes they stop at our local gas station and converse with the locals about game movements. Best of luck with the move. May the wind be at your back, the road smoothly paved, manna fall abundantly, the Seas part, etc.

Why does one need hay if they just sold their last horse? When you cant keep the story straight without taking notes it makes a man wonder.

Why does one need hay if they just sold their last horse? When you cant keep the story straight without taking notes it makes a man wonder. Oh for pity’s sake. Grow up. I sold my last horse 2 nights ago, just like I said. But Will, my son couldn’t sell his. He flies out in 2 days to start a new life in NC, and has no money. So this morning, I bought his horse to help him out, and I need hay for it. I can draw you a picture with a crayon if you need, but don’t ever call me a liar again.

Some people will believe anything since when is it a crime to ask a question and when did it become ok to threaten when someone does. Please feel free to delete my account and put a fork in me as I am done.

Up extra early this morning as I’m heading off to mom’s. She’s moving today and I want to be there to ensure she’ll be ok.
