I just mowed the green acre, and fixed the Lawn Boy 20" and did some trimming. Bushed. I know the feeling of the mowing and weed eating.

I got a propane self igniting burner from Harbor Tool but I haven't been up to try it out yet. tomorrow I'll finish mowing as close to the edge of the pond as possible and give it a try. Mower and I ran out of gas at the same time. A lot of the yard is still too wet to mow.

I have about half irrigated and half dry so all the dead grass gets mowed or weed wacked down for fire protection along with trimming lower branches on trees, keeping the black berries sprayed and down.

What a day!!!...having scene the last few posts, I know you guys know something about getting older ,so here's a story of my day with some background...
over the course of this covid era ,I've been dealing with a slight lower back pain and a sort of weakness that leaves me bent over after only a short while on my feet...I dry dishes for the wife ,and by time I finish ,I'm bent over the counter. early on ,it felt lake a bar of soap at my beltline/ mid-back. I saw a back doctor in April, X-rays didn't show much, and the soonest MRI was to be done today. Back in April when they set it up, they asked if I wanted an "open" MRI...thinking it was about my size{ think fat boy},I said yes. Today I was quietly and softly led into a room and asked what sort of music would make me feel best ,told to focus on the pictures of lovely blue sky ,as I lay on my back and looked up, and when I what's up ,they told me in was to make me more comfortable...long story short, the machine wouldn't go over the forty extra pound I put on as I hid from covid-19, and an open MRI is about tight places ,not fat people. "Oh sir" the said ,with a silly smile " here's a NEW appointment form...just make an appointment at our office in Short Pump" ,like it's nothing to it ,never mind another two or three month wait, or the fact that I'd rather wheel around in a wheelchair than drive in Short Pump..." why, out there we have a WIDE board MRI machine" ...NO THANKS ,was my reply...I came home , changed pants ,and headed to the gym...once I uncover the "little man" inside me ,I'll take another shot at it, till then I'm done with MRIs.

Herb, carry on as best you can and fug them. I am the size of a whale calf. That is too bad for the world of hospital technology. I am heading over to Sea World. Went into town wearing bib overalls and a small lady in the supermarket remarked a day ago, "You sure are big! Could you reach that carton in the back of the refrigerator?" No problem. Then she said, "I will look for you next time. You are hard to miss!". She asked my name and I replied, "Haystack Calhoun". If you are not old enough to remember him just say "Good Night!".

I gained 24 lbs since November. I had to order bigger overalls. I now regular denim, brown duck, and railroad stripe.

Hey John, I remember ole Haystack ;my Dad and my Uncles used to watch that old boy toss the regular guys around like toys, but I didn't get it. I like overalls now, back then, not so much... the wife and I spent better than an hour at the gym. I had a good safe workout ,and while I do have some stiffness in my legs and arms, my back seems less a problem. I got myself into this body, and I'll have to work my way out!

Say hello to my little friend. CZ 75B with 32-round magazine (32+1). Kind of a stunt really, since the standard mag is 16-rounds and a mag change takes about 2 seconds. But the extra weight and the low grip it provides for the support hand makes for an almost recoil-less shooting experience. I guess it could be called the burglar’s nightmare. :^)

I have a 30 round mag for my Star Model 30. They took features from the 1911 and CZ 75 and incorporated them into the most dependable battle pistol ever. I have enough ammo to load it, but I'm hesitant to use it.

I once owned a Star 28. The 28, 30, and CZ75 series are NOT good choices for EDC as they are HEAVY pistols— outweighing a 1911 when fully loaded. They are service pistols and very well built. I didn’t like my 28 b/c I could not carry it C&L. I wonder if they corrected that in the 30? The 75 can be carried for DA first shot or C&L like a 1911. While it doesn’t effect use or reliability, the CZ is finished several grades above the Stars.

Yes, it can be carried C&L and it's double/single action. It weighs 3 pounds loaded with 17 rounds.

Thanks. I figgered they wd hv corrected the no C&L option. Excellent nightstand pistol, altho I have stayed with a 1911 .45 for that job, along with a 1000-lumen flashlight.

Just finished fertilizing the back yard. Now sitting an enjoying a pipe while rotating the front yard sprinklers on what I put on the front lawn last night. Each station is getting an hour started at 7:00 so the front will be done by 11:00 then I will do the same thing to the back. My lawns were looking pretty sad hope I can get them back in shape.

I see folks bigger that I am, all the time; what the heck do they do, cash in their chip and go off to die somewhere??? I'll just pass, but I bet there's a real blowout when I ask for a refund of my $200.00 copay on Monday.

Yes I have seen people do that a few times it is kinda a jack wagon thing to do, put the cows next to someones house and put the calves a few miles away.

Catching a malady early can help avoid a miserable decline in your quality of life. $200.00 is the price of a dinner for two and a few drinks in a nice restaurant.

26 years ago I was packed into an MRI like a Miné Ball in a rifle musket.
To be from going nuts during the 30 minutes interval, I kept me eyes tightly shut and prayed as the machine roared around me.
Not sure I will do that again.

Got the "baby" (pup) on some new meds to rid her of some skin lesions (allergy to certain foods) and it is working...her hair is soft and fluffy and her skin is clearing up...can't tell you how happy this makes me. We are responsible for her good health as we have taken her in from the shelter...makes my heart sing to see her improving in her health. This makes my day complete...love our "baby".
