Spent the afternoon with Ron Powell. We had a great lunch and great conversation. Sorry I didn't do it sooner. Got to see the shop where the magic happens! 😁 🤠
Well at least I now know how bad I look from the back side.

I was deleting photos from my phone and came across these. Seeing these 2 pictures, it dawned on me that I have only danced with my daughter twice in my life. But both times were special. Father/daughter dance in grade school. My daughters wedding 4 years ago. Beautiful lady and lovely family, Monty!

Just bought some train tickets for London this week. Plan to spend a couple of nights in the Mayfair area. I'll show the family around during the day and take the wife out at night. Have to get some benefit out of having the MIL in country - free babysitting. Hope the weather holds out. Now to decide what pipes to bring...

Went into Longview today for a locksmith, to buy the wife some new flower pots and eat. Only 4 hours in town but it seemed like 4 days.

Nobody appears to have done anything worthy of a post today. My day wasn't especially noteworthy either, but hope you all had a good day, whatever you may have been doing (even working).

I told my wife that this is the last time I go there...Montana beckons. May you enjoy it more than you expect. I lived there for 25 years, left in 2005 vowing to go back as little as possible. My wife is from there and we had to pay respects when mom, grandma, sis, pass on. Other family events on her side. It drains on my time being able to go to other places...there is a whole host of reasons that I hate crossing the border, the place pretty much sucks. Done with that bad scene.

We're going to the funeral in Houston, leaving Friday. We'll be staying at my friend's place in Richmond, about 40 miles SW of Houston. So, drive to Richmond Friday, drive into inner loop Houston and back for the viewing and back to Richmond, then do it again Saturday morning for the funeral. Last time. I would almost go to (eastern) California. I will be a nervous wreck on top of everything else.

Eastern California and where our Norcal members live are like a different country, we always end up in the bay area where the nonsense of the idiotic mindset prevails, and the environment is trashed.

I wish I could help you. Want to visit your sicko friend in Texas? I figure after yesterday the roads out will be crowded.

I would love a visit to Texas, I have friends scattered all over the landscape there.
I lived in Schertz and Cibolo, grew up in ice houses and thought every kid ate pickled eggs for breakfast.

My condolences to both of you and wishing you safe travels. Not a great way to spend time on the road, but I'm sure it's appreciated.

Never heard of those places, and never ate a pickled egg, but my mom and uncle did. Looked them up and although I've been through there a lot, Not really since 1982. I see it's really grown since then. We went to New Braunfels a lot and San Antonio a little, BBut Rarely between the 2. Last time we made that section of road was actually 1977,on our honeymoon.

I use to eat'em by the jar full almost, that and pickled sausages, Oh Yeah! Love me some right now, of course that's probably why I'm a hermit. Oh, and lets throw in some pickled Green Tomatoes too. Yum!

Love pickled green tomatoes! I used to work with a crew of older men who ate pickled eggs and drank beer the night before a run, which would usually start with 6 hours in a car, sitting on the hump in the back seat of an Oldsmobile with six farting guys chain smoking cigarettes. Great atmosphere for a 14 year old. Hot Nuts in the tape player.
