Hadn't heard that in years, Ron. Thanks! I've always loved classic Do-wop.

I always remember the first time I heard the song, my oldest brother certified stud, played it for the first time on his record player. I say certified stud, because I knew he was a hell of a Marine, but when I went to his retirement party, I was floored by his colleagues that were pretty hard core guys teared up as they recounted his career....I never had a clue about any of that.
So although the song is completely about something else, in my mind it will be forever associated with my big brother.
I still would rather face a pack of rabid bobcats than fight him.

In the early 80’s I was delivering the Toll House hotel in Los Gatos, Ca. and saw him exiting the bus. Years later, got to very briefly meet him at the truck roadeo finals in Memphis, we hung out at his restaurant on Beale Street, he had a great house band playing there, and the food was scrumptious. Always came across as a very down-to-earth guy, like the dirt poor sharecropper he started out as. My favorite BB story. Seems he left some office with a record company exec and while walking down the street they met a homeless guy. "BB King!", he called out. "I bought all your records. Here, take a swig" and passed a bottle. Mr. King did just that, took a long one. The record Exec said something like, "You took a drink from a homeless guy?" To which BB replied, "He said he bought all my records". I believe it.

I've seen videos of guitar teachers interviewing him, talking about intervals and modes and all that good stuff, and B.B. would chuckle and say, "I don't know anything about theory. I'm not proud of it, but it's a fact. I play what sounds right to me." OTOH, I've seen video of him doing a sound check or rehearsal or something with a couple of younger guitarists who got a little big for their britches, and he was not the least hesitant to tell them exactly where they fit in. He knew his limits, and knew his strengths, and was quite comfortable owning both.

Just when you thought it was safe to come out of your room, here is Nico from 1967 singing Jackson Browne's first song. He used to play guitar accompaniment for her in NY. Keep in mind English was not her first language and she was partially deaf which made it hard to be musical.

Of course Beethoven was deaf when he wrote the 9th so maybe it doesn't matter.

Listening and watching an Electric Light Orchestra concert. I am still in my bedroom which has a small sound system. I have a Denon receiver, some older Cambridge Sound Works speakers. I also have a Klipsh powered sub woofer.
My main system in my living room has a more powerful Denon receiver, Cerwin Vegas 15xL speakers with huge cabinets that holds 15 inch basses along with a DSW( i think) powered subwoofer. The Cerwin Vegas are three way speakers, twitter, mid range and then the woofer. They produce the sound I am used to listening. I crank the shite out of them to bands like Pink Floyd, Yes, Led Zeppelin, Doodie Brothers, ELO, David Bowie, Jethro Tull, Rolling Stones, Eagles, Joe Walsh, The Who. There are so many more. The cool shite is that I can go back in time and watch concerts from when these groups were playing all over to promote and album.
I also listen to Motown and Philadelphia Funk. I have eclectic taste in music.

Sounds like great taste in music, Cigarmaster… all of them check a box in my musical likes.
A couple years back, I found out that ELO had a single concert in LA… I found out after the tickets were gone… them and Supertramp I always wanted to catch.
