Cool. He's playing a Rickenbacker guitar in this set. Talent knows quality. Rickenbacker is an under-rated/unknown guitar these days. (I own a custom made Rickenbacker.) I own a Rickenbacker - but it's a triple neck steel guitar (late 1960's, before pedal steel guitars). It's been setting in it's case for 40+ years - but still playing fine. (At least when I test it every ~10 years or so.) The volume and bass/treble potentiometers need a thorough cleaning - but that and re-stringing should be all it needs. Recently, I was told by a friend that he knew someone in Nashville who might be interested in buying it. I'd by thrilled to get some money for it, but I'd give it away for free to this guy if I knew he would restore it and play it! This is what mine looks like. It was special order and it took Rickenbacker almost a year to build it and ship it!

Now that's a guitar player!!!!! He got the fame, fortune and the trophy wife. I don't think I've ever listened to him. Not on purpose I mean. I just hadn't heard enough of his music to be untested. Thanks for the sample.

My older sister played one but not after she got married when I was 5 so I never heard her. I do remember her playing the piano when I was very young, but life got in the way of that too.

A fun video by (in my opinion) the greatest group on the planet, The Eagles. Driven to greatness by Don Henley (a native of Linden, TX - right Ron) and Glenn Frey (Detroit, MI). He was born in Gilmer, about 25 miles away, but he grew up here. He has a strange relationship with the town. He owns most of the (mostly vacant) real estate downtown and he has restored his old family home. But, he has not been any help to the mayor or the development council, just sitting on the properties. He hasn't been back to town since we've lived here, but that does correspond to the Covid-19 lock downs. Also, he is Democrat, while the entire county is still plastered with Trump signs. A lot of hard feelings about that.

Recently found a bunch of podcasts by Dr. R.C. Sproul that have been as enjoyable as they have been informative.

A lot of hard feelings about that. In the Eagles documentary, it was interesting to watch how Glen Frey and Don Henley were supportive of Alan Cranston and they were angry that Don Felder wasn’t into the political scene as was not agreeable in being involved in politics by supporting him in free concert fundraisers. And they were visibly upset about him not adopting their political point of view. To be sure, Henley and Frey wrote most of the music and were not happy that Don Felder wanted an equal slice of the pie. Henley stated something to the effect “we are not a bunch of hippies in a commune” suggesting that he was a capitalist when it suited him, but supported a collectivist politician for others. A great rockumentary, nonetheless. www.jambase.com/article/throwback-thursday-the-eagles-implode-in-long-beach

While doing yard work today this song came across the headset...it brought back memories. In 1977 I was a junior in high school and had front row seats to the show and Christie McVie sang this when she saw me sitting on the front row, an impromptu song I reckon.

My students are down at my office today presenting to my editing team.
Currently on a break, but that's what I've been listening to all morning. For first timers, most of these kids are doing well.

Had to go to the grocery store which is across the street from Don Henley's childhood home and this came on. Small world.
