I always thought the fasces on the US dime was weird, considering...

Color me embarassed. It's actually a torch on the current dime, as the fasces was replaced with a torch at the end of the War, because symbols change meaning. I'm not inviting political discussion; it's just a semiotics observation. And I'm so observant that I didn't notice the fasces has been a torch for 75 years!

Just finished a bowl of Butternut burley in a straight grained bent Dublin by BSP. Next up is G&H Bob's Chocolate Flake with several years age on it in a small special apple by Cramps...a great smoking pipe.

Happy Saturday, everyone! Started the day with Haunted Bookshop in a cob. Got grocery shopping and snow shoveling done. Now smoking Mac B Club Blend in a Apple Diplomat, hockey on the tube all day, Labatt's Blue Light on the table. Will be moving on to a cigar later (maybe) or some flake tobacco (probably).
