Loaded up a bowl of Amphora original in a GBD Virgin Canadian...tasted nasty, never particularly liked this blend, dumped it out and went for my usual butternut burley. Walt, I’m a little surprised you even went with the Amphora in the first place! Will chalk it up to a brain fart! Cheers brother. 😁 Yeah, Ted...you are right...I have several blends that I have accumulated over the years, that I just won't smoke...used to be red Va's that I couldn't smoke, but with 5 years on the red Va's...they are pretty toned down...still there are some blends that I just won't ever bother with again. G&H Bob's Chocolate Flake in a bent straight grained Dublin by BSP.

I was fortunate to have a friend several years ago that would make pipes in exchange for tobacco...use to send pounds to him in London, he would send back some beautiful hand made pipes...he only had a drill press and rasps and sandpaper...never got a fill or a bad pipe...he, too, put his heart into it.

2015 McC Old Dog in my Italian made Stanwell Royal Guard 32 Bulldog. Another wonderful blend from Mac C! Too bad my tobacconist doesn’t carry it. Oh well, the hunt continues! Maybe I can teach my old dog new tricks? Hmmmm.......😁👍

McConnell Scottish Cake in a rusticated Savinelli Zulu. Still admiring the nice pipes posted today. I missed out on the McClelland era. I'm probably better off not knowing what I missed. I spend too much money on tobacco, as it is.

McCranie's Stirling Bridge ,in my old Kristi Freehand, with my first coffee. I think this is a shop pipe, as I've yet to find another "Kristi". It's a sandblast ,with ring-grain all around, and looks very much like Big Woolie's freehand from a post a few days ago. In any case, it's a real workhorse, and I honestly think I could fill it with sawdust and enjoy a fine smoke!

A departure from the normal routine - Rattray's Highland Targe in a Dunhill Shell Group 4 patent-era Billiard. Had some Red Rapparee last night and thought I'd throw in something with Latakia today. When I resumed pipe smoking, some of the first tobacco I bought was English. Picked up where I left off, I guess. Then, for some reason, I became a burleyhead. I have a few Dunhills and Charatans reserved for English/Balkan blends, that I don't smoke often enough. So, I thought I'd mix things up a bit, keep things interesting.

This morning, a really pleasant bowl of Z92 (Vanilla Custard) in the Stanwell blowfish. I need to branch out. Wish I weren’t so sensitive to tongue-bite. But I have ordered a couple of new tries: some EGR and— yikes!— Half & Half. We shall see what we shall see.

Has anyone heard of or tried Mac B’s Latakia Rolls? This blend popped up in my in box and I’ve never heard of it. Is it similar to its Latakia Blend just revamped? I think it may have been discontinued and perhaps making a comeback? Any information would be appreciated thanks.
