Good baccy and nice pipe, it’s a shame Joe isn’t carving anymore (at least I don’t think he is). I don’t think Balkovec is either Thank you. The DFC is becoming my go-to pipe smoke. This is the first and only pipe I ever had by Joe Case. I love it. In fact, if I remember right, I got it from a site recommended on here where they refurbished pipes and then sold them for charity. I’ve enjoyed it as well, have a jar going and 5 tins in the “cellar”. Nice blend

Another bowl of Dark Fired Kentucky. I picked up some 1Q this week after many months away from it, and it bored me. I gave it all to Willie, who is smoking a pipe now too. It had no real taste and a room note that somehow reminds me of one of my wife’s scented candles. I think after supper, I’ll probably have a bowl of 3 Noggins in something. Maybe in the Old Morris straight stemmed freehand.

Probably Crystal Palace and maybe High Hat and/or #191.

Probably Crystal Palace and maybe High Hat and/or #191. Yes I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts about the High Hat and 191 too. The 191 intrigues me as it’s two main components are honey and vanilla combined with some Kentucky Burley. As I’m confident you’re mainly an aro smoker (based on your past posts), I’d appreciate your expert opinion as this blend is on my Wish List. As for the High Hat, I’ve heard everything from “being the best American produced English/Balkan blend” to being a raisiny, plumy, sweet everyday smoke. After that, what’s not to love?

IMO, coming from you, that’s an excellent endorsement! More importantly, it confirms my previous statement. 👍

About 30%. I haven’t been able to order what I need to make up a blend since I moved to WA, but I’ll probably start experimenting with a new blend one of these days.
