Well, the time has come for me to re-locate again. Things have been pretty stressed and balled up around here the last couple of weeks. I’m pretty sure I had a heart attack last Friday night. Went to the Dr this week, my bp was 200/140. Shweetie put her foot down...HARD. Pastoring a church, regardless of how small it is, is more stress than most people realize. Even a peaceful one like this one is, especially for an old cowboy that ain’t cut out for it, was just trying to help.
So I’ll be resigning this Sunday, all peaceful like, and moving on to somewhere stress free where I just can do what I do and let the world pass me by. Shweetie is a quiet, gentle woman and when she gets her dander up and gets forceful, everybody listens. Including me. And she don’t want to loose her man.
I have a ranch in Wyoming, the first place I called, very interested in hiring me as a guide, so that’s probably where we’ll go, and what we’ll do. I can’t think of anything more peaceful and natural for me. I had good intentions here, but my good intentions have been killing me.

Good luck. If you don't take care of yourself you can't help anyone else.

Sad that your local parish is going to miss an awesome spiritual leader. Happy that you’re entering a new stage in your life for the better. Looking forward to reading up on all the wonderful things in Wyoming once you’ve settled in. Cheers and congratulations in your decision. 🍻

It sounds like a wise decision, Dewayne.
Too many preachers ignored the warning signs when they should have heeded them.

Sorry that happened, but glad you're doing what's necessary to take care of yourself. Seems like too many people ignore that sort of thing, what should be a real wake up call. Good on you for trying to help though...

Dewayne stick with horses. You tell a horse what you think of them and it seems to go pretty good. Tell a person what you think of them and now you got a rodeo!

I’m leaving my company next week after 10 years with them. Stressed and excited at the same time. Going to take a month off before starting the next gig though. Need to recharge all the batteries

I missed this post, bigwoolie. Sorry to hear things didn't work out. I've no idea what it's like to be a horse trainer, but I can appreciate the pressure of pastoring a church. My two churches are great, but there is a wild lot of stress involved in it. I wish you ever blessing as a guide on the ranch.
