Started the day in the backyard with Haunted Bookshop in a cob and coffee in the mug. Warmer and sunny today, with a persistent breeze. Second bowl was Three Friars, same cob. Now, I'm smoking LC Virginia-Burley in a rusticated Savinelli Zulu. Have a great Saturday.

We had the squirrel problem, too, until I got this Audubon Society feeder that closes off the seed pan when anything with substantial weight touches the rail next to it. We had one of those. The squirrel learned how to beat it. Last year I found an orphaned baby squirrel, she was tiny. I fed her raw goats milk until she could eat solids. Her favorite was avocado. She was an amazing little creature!!!!

She was an amazing little creature!!!! Squirrels were very popular pets in colonial America. There are many portraits of children with their pet squirrels. They fell out of popularity by the 19th century.

Dug out a copy of P&T Magazine and reading about Rinaldo pipes...grabbed my Il Ceppo and loaded it up with some Samuel Gawith Best Brown from 2006. Kind of crispy in the jar, but we'll see how she turns out! Only have a wee bit left; couple of bowls I think.
