I noticed this evening that, once the stuff in the mail gets here, I'll have north of 50lbs. of tobacco in the cellar, according to my spreadsheet. I wouldn't have guessed it was anywhere near that, but apparently I would've been quite wrong. So where's all that mass coming from? My top ten blends by weight appear to be: - Sutliff Virginia Slices
- HH Pure Virginia
- Stokkebye LBF
- Orlik Golden Sliced
- Rattray's Marlin Flake
- Heinrichs Golden Sliced
- Rattray's Old Gowrie
- Haunted Bookshop
- Old Joe Krantz
- multi-way tie among several things
That's a lot of Virginias, which is no accident. For one, I like Virginias. For another, of course, they age well. It's also a lot of flakes, which also is no accident. What have you guys stocked the most of? And, partly out of curiosity and partly to allow me to judge the severity of my TAD, I'm curious what you'd guesstimate your total cellar weight to be.

That's quite respectable in a short time! I don't have a formal total inventory, but have some paper notes of my busy stocking years. It probably looks something like this:
In roughly descending order, Bulk: C&D Three Friars PS LNF C&D Haunted Bookshop Newminster Superior Navy Flake PS LBF Newminster Superior Round Slices MB HH ODF RR GH Brown Bogie & Irish Twist C&D Yorktown C&D Virginia Gentleman MB HH ODF D&R Three Sails Sutliff Virginia Slices MB Navy Flake PS 701 Virginia WCC 558 Flake GH Dark Plug GH Kendal Kentucky PS Optimum and Luxury English McC 5100 Red Cake
Tins: Peterson University Flake Wessex Brigade Campaign Dark Flake Rattray Old Gowrie Astley 44 Dark Virginia Flake Dunhill Flake SG 1792
I think that's the backbone of the cellar. There's way less than a pound of everything else. I'm sure I forgot something. The total weight is more than yours, Urb, but *way* less than some I have seen. There's nothing wrong with moderate TAD if you have a goal and a plan. Or I'm just rationalizing my own disorder.

The majority of my cellar in no particular order consists of the following:
Wessex Burley Slices University Flake Royal Yacht Irish Flake Father Dempsey ODF
There are plenty others in there of decent quantity, but I haven't really done a good inventory in awhile.

I'm up to 12 tins of Balkan Sasieni, and a handful of other one-off tins, but I've got big plans for the rest of the year

Here is the top 20 & ties in my cellar in order of weight. The range in the top 20 is 4.74 to 1.34 pounds. The total of the top 20 is 43.7 pounds. The total cellar is 95.1 pounds. Number of Blends in the cellar is 144. This excludes my smoking stock, that must be in the 3 to 5 pound range. I note that my cellar top 20 represents not only my current smoking inclinations but my early buying sprees as I was learning my way. If I found something on sale, I bought at least a pound of it. I've tempered that strategy somewhat!
Peter Stokkebye: Luxury Bullseye Flake WC PSD 2019 TOY Off the Rails WC Rhythm & Blues Sutliff 515 RC-1 Matured Red Virginia SPC Plum Pudding Sutliff 507C Virginia Slices WC Spill'sbane XMAS 2019 D&R Rimboche S.J. I've got about 60+ pounds and three pages of different blends including McClellands as I stocked up before the closed the doors..much of it is stuff that I don't really smoke that much of, but it is good trading material when I decide to go that route.

Probably what I have the most of in bulk, is the trio of Stokkebye flakes and a fair amount of Newminster flakes and coins. Most of in tins, are probably all of the releases of C&D red Virginia small batches.
I really need to do an inventory, just to track the age of what I have.

Interesting. Stokkebye flakes seem to be right popular, along with Newminster and Sutliff. Aged Virginias for the win, I guess. A lot of Haunted Bookshop, too. sparks , didn't you just recently try Wessex Burley Slices? kxg , how did you manage to get that much Rouxgaroux? Accumulate it over years? Silver, apparently you did well to stock up on Pegasus when you did. That stuff's in short supply these days.

It seems that Pegasus, HB and OJK shelves are empty right now. Hoping that they'll be back in stock at the end of the month. I'll be bulking up some more, then.

Even at regular prices, the Stokkebye flakes are a really good value and age wonderfully if they suit your taste. And in the past, pipes and cigars has had sales that were phenomenal. I am not sure how much markdown they do now, as I don’t shop much, but checking my P&C calendar it says that June is Stokkebye month. Promotion code: JUNE21

He might've been a better man than me. I confess that on the occasion that I make it to my car outside of Walmart, only to discover that I forgot to scan the dog food under the cart, I smile inside.

I am not sure at all where my cellar stands at right now. What I do know is I have greatly intensified my purchases over the last two years and intend keeping doing so for as long as remains possible.

Back when Rouxgaroux first hit the market, a couple of years ago, I think, it wasn't so wildly popular and so easier to buy. I bought the max the first two opportunities, I believe a pound each time. Easy. Not so much now.

Once you and Charlie pick up the hazardous material you'll have to send it to me. I have an EPA license for several small batch incinerators. It's a long slow process but somebody has to do it.

How would you compare Sutliff Virginia to HH Pure Virginia? I'm terrible at identifying flavors, etc., but I would say the Sutliff has more complexity. You get -- or I get, anyway -- some of those dark fruit flavors. HH is a very straight-ahead Virginia, as the name suggests. I hear it develops some very nice complexity with age, though. I plan to find out. The Sutliff should only get better with age, too, though.
