Hauled out my mystery pipe this afternoon -- which is remarkably good -- and filled it with Peterson Early Morning Pipe, and the two went together quite well. Now the pipe, a Bent Apple Comoy's but its origin is somewhat mysterious. The Comoy's logo is on the top of the shank in block letters, capital C, with an apostrophe S. It may therefore be from the '50s, but that's it. There's no Made in England or Made in London pressing to be found, or any other identifying mark for that matter. There is no Circle C on the stem. There are numbers on the underside of the shank 788 6, yes, there is a space between the 788 and the 6. A checked what model numbers I could find and there is no Comoy's 788 or 788 6. There is a 6 but it doesn't descrivb a Bent Apple. All I know is it's a great pipe -- the best Comoy's I have. Any ideas?

Sutliff 526 "Old Professor" in the Calabrisi. Bulleit Bourbon on the side. Perfect for after dinner, enjoying the 72°F temperatures after today's storm.

Lane RLP-6 in a cob, with a nice cup of black coffee. Pinto beans are started, might have to go on a quest to see if anyone has any OTC blends in the near by area.

4th Generation Evening Flake in a MM Pride. I finally scored some for the cellar, but I'm still working on a sample from urbino. A bottle of tap water accompanies.

Bald Headed Teacher in a MM Cobbit (sort of a churchwarden-ish cob). I made a very simple, old school appalachian dinner, so a simple tobacco sounded good. I recently watched Hobbiton Pipers PA review, and he described as a 'good plain food tobacco', that stuck with me.
Cheers!

July 10th. I just finished the last of the scraps lane bca can really be a nice flavor in the right ratios. so it was time to open a fresh tin. I have the morning blends, purple cow/burley#3, the very nice star of the east for a full flavor bowl to savor, then with the scraps gone I needed a counter point flavor. Having finished the black frigate tin (yum) i decided GLP triple play would be a good new blend. I have a second tin in storage so that helps when opening a really nice blend. much like temple bar is suberb so is triple play. very nice plug, a bit moist and a tad sticky when rubbed but nothing out of the ordinary. Figured go big so I used the petersons ebony spigot 107. It has a generous U shaped bowl making for a big blast of what ever flavor is there in a blend triple play has a delicate flavor which I found perfect. anyhoo, hope alls well
