Started the day with Haunted Bookshop in a cob and coffee on the front porch, watching a thundershower pass through.

Having a bowl of Five o'clock Shadow in a cob. Only my second bowl. Just the right amount of DFK for my tastes. Balance between DFK and Perique is good. Smoky, spicy and a little sweet. Probably will purchase again.

The Five o'Clock Shadow was a really good blend to me as well. I finished one tin after release, told myself to restock an 8oz tin and sort of forgot about it with all the other similar cakes I've had stocked. Will need to grab some tins.
I'm getting ready to touch off a bowl of Sutliff Crumble Kake Barrel Aged Series No. 1 Limited in a John Cotton belge.

I made the mistake of starting my Sunday with a very unremarkable smoke ,from a jar that is now once more hidden deep in the darkness of my tobacco cabinet. I smoked half the bowl, and when I could no longer stand the taste of a candy bar wrapped in a dirty sock, I dumped the rest and went out on the back porch to repent. I'm now smoking a Hillson egg ,filled from a jar labeled The Lion and The lamb, a wonderful old home-blend, of some mellow Virginias, creamy latakia, and enough whiskey cavendish to lighten the room note. No date on the jar, but it's been around for at least twelve years, and has melded into a really nice change of pace smoke.

So, how does that thing actually smoke compared to a regular pipe?

2/17 C&D Crooner in a 4-panel 1970's Medico Varsity dedicated Crooner pipe. The deer tongue leaf fades to a similar brown like the tobacco itself after a few years of age, and for an all burley blend of flake chips and burley ribbon mixed with deer tongue leaf, it manages to age well and get smoother and richer in depth. I think this pipe has been a dedicated Crooner pipe since 2015-16 and previously I recall it smoked a lot of Sutliff Barking Dog match.

fadingdaylight and Ronv69,
My first smoke with it, so it is a little early to tell, but I like the pipe thus far. It feels good in the hand, and has a good draw. I took with it slow being the first bowl. It stayed pretty cool throughout the smoke. The radiator cup on the bottom did its job and collected some moisture. I like that it also works as a sitter, as I smoke outside and like to be able to easily sit the pipe down wherever I need to. It is easy to break down and clean. The bowl is much larger than the chamber, as a good inch or so is taken up by the threads to screw it onto the aluminum radiator. I'll add that it feels much lighter in hand and when clenching than it appears.

So, after an afternoon cleaning out a garage, smoking WC Slices and Haunted Bookshop and a cigar, I'm smoking Salty Dogs in a Dr. Grabow Eldorado Lovat.
