This evening, for starters; A Sutliff Virginia mix of roughly equal parts of 515-RC1 and 507-C, with a healthy pinch of 507-S thrown in, in a Larrysson Blasted Bent Dublin, a good Virginia pipe. Then, WC Terrapin Station in a Falcon with a Meer Bulldog bowl. We will see if there is a third.

I'm about to smoke some 2012 McClelland's 221b Honeydew flake in the new Kriswill 582 lovat. It's a very "brandy" looking canted bowl with a fishtail saddlebit stem, Blue Room Briars has it pegged as a lovat, but I've also asked one of the shape masters and he also says it's a saddlebit brandy. Go figure. Nice! I really like the long shank and saddle bit of lovats. I've always one would be great with more of an apple shaped bowl, but figure it wouldn't really be a lovat at that point.

August 16th. Have a moment to post. The easytimes (c&d) has turned into a good blend. Took a bit to get used to the burley but it is well done and makes for a good morning or even daily blend. Not exactly to my tastes making this the one and only tin I will buy but if faced with nothing but a tin of it I would be okay with that. Thankfully Plantation evening has much more to offer and has made the restock list. Another is the wonderful Tuskeegee Airmen blend. A tasty english blend made into a cake...the extra preparation makes this blend shine. Sunday Picnic is another that made the list. Might even make it a constant in the rotation once my test phase has finished. Anyhoo,I just ordered a Vauen Enzian #4 cavalier from smokingpipes. I usually cruise the estate section and after finding a beautiful Rolando Negriota cavalier (1500$ used) we began thinking about a cavalier again. I almost bought one a year or so ago but the 470$ plus local taxes just seemed high for a pipe I knew little about at the time. I had also bought the GGG castello lovat earlier so another high price pipe was not in the cards. Fast forward to today adding in my knowledge and experience with my own vauen classic 1633 billiard and I finally gave in. I am hoping it will do well with flakes and plugs!. have a great week everyone!

The Kriswill 582 lovat and the big tomato of the day. It needs to sit up on the kitchen windowsill for just one more day and will darken quite a bit more, couple other uniform sized fully ripe were picked today.
One sliced. Great tomato! Pipe doesn't suck, either.

That's a looker. Nice ring grain. I've got a Silk Cut in the natural finish (I forget what they call it).

Nearly two hundred pipes around here, and not one Radice...clearly there's some deep rooted flaw in my DNA. Thanks for pointing me down the right path!

It's going to be Morning Drive for my morning drive today, in a modified Shire Cobbit with coffee.

In from earlier full walks (early doc visit coming up), no-band 5x50 for company. After the Ed is fed, Abingdon in IL Ceppo full bent hangs like an Oom-Paul & continue with the papers. Asides the above, nothing important planned for the day
67, overcast, rain predicted 80% on/off
Ed Duncan, Batavia, NY pipe/cigar since '62

I was just able to acquire a 2001 tin of G.L. Pease Stonehenge Flake, 2001 tin of Gallaher's Rich Dark Honeydew, and a 2006 tin of McClelland Syrian Super Balkan from my tobacconist. They had almost anything you can think of Thursday from a large collector that passed away. If you want original Balkan Sobranie in the big tubs though expect to pay $600-800 PER tin. Even had some 60's cutter top tins of the Original. I've gotta do some grocery store running and I'll be smoking 2016 Haunted Bookshop before I head out, in an Old Dominion Richmond reed stemmed cob.
I tried to do the photos side-by-side, and know it's quite a few but thought it worth sharing as I fly by. I have to jet so this was quickest.
