Silver, I've not updated my profile since joining in 2016. (This guy has loved Haunted Bookshop since 2015) What's striking about the reed stem is that there is no shank to the pipe. One pipe cleaner through and the stem is clean with no eventual gunk to be cleaned from internals of a shank. That being said, it cannot be clenched but makes for a perfect cob to sit back and relax.
EDIT: (Joined in 2017 it seems)
They look so Huck Finn/Tom Sawyer. I gotta get one. Even though I know I'll chew the sh@t out of it.

It does feel like it would be the most authentic 1869 cob for sure. I'll have to be careful myself to not work with it and absentmindedly try to clench on the reed.

Yeah, I have thought about adding it to the profile list. I spent the last year chasing latakia blends, so it is a nice departure. There is nothing specific with it that jumps out at me, but rather an underlying comfortable consistent flavor that I am currently enjoying. I can't quite put my finger on it. Love it, in a cob, with a cup of coffee in the morning. But, I can (and have) smoke it all day. Might be my codger blend. You have a lot of company in that particular codger corner.

Watch City Old Dominion in the Monday cob. Getting ready to tackle my mountain of tomatoes. I'm heading out now to snag a couple large Vintage Wine tomatoes, one is about 1.5 pounds and I'll provide a picture or two a little later on. I'll be smoking some Wessex Dark Cavendish in the MM show cob with blue acrylic swirl stem.

Just packed some Erinmore Mixture in my Dunhill 5115 County Army Mount (2018). Enjoying some Perrier Strawberry on the side while looking at my customs invoice for the /35 pipe rack and still not believing my eyes.

I'm about to smoke some 2012 McClelland's 221b Honeydew flake in the new Kriswill 582 lovat. It's a very "brandy" looking canted bowl with a fishtail saddlebit stem, Blue Room Briars has it pegged as a lovat, but I've also asked one of the shape masters and he also says it's a saddlebit brandy. Go figure.

It was great seeing you at the Columbus Show! Especially since now that I know this is you and I've known you for a few years on other forums.

A Danish take on the lovat, and I love the pipe.
It was great seeing you there this year as well. I ended up staying out there in the carport area until 1am, went to the Columbus zoo the next morning.

The Kriswill 582 lovat and the big tomato of the day. It needs to sit up on the kitchen windowsill for just one more day and will darken quite a bit more, couple other uniform sized fully ripe were picked today.
One sliced.
